 We begin in the steppes with High Chief Krum, despite having an heir I am unwed and thus I seek for a wife to better my position. The woman I find is none other than the window of the late Khan Telets and she hails from the clan of Ukill, the rulers of  Wallachia. I quickly send envoys to her family and by the 20th of february we are wed.

 

The political situation is tenser than ever, the new Khan seems hell bent on abusing his power at every opportunity presented. Even going so far as to restrict the rights of the high chiefs of the Bolghars. His mad reign had gone too far so I decided to create a faction to place me as the Khan and retake my fathers mantle. Not a month later I send a letter to my Khan telling him to either give in the crown or be forcefully deposed, in a fit of lucidness not seen by Telerig Khan for many months he decides to peacefully give me the title of Khan of the Bolghars and with that begins a new era for the the people of the steppes.

 

The first thing that I do as Khan is to march northeast and subjugate the Avars in the valley of Carpathia. Degizkh Khan of the Avars summons a formidable host of 4000 men to defy my rule, an army larger than my own. But due to my impressive military skills and the Avars lack of organisations I massacred many of the smaller armies before they could join with their excuse for a Khan.

 

 The war was practically decided during the battle of Szekelyfold, where my 3500 brave horsemen engaged his 3000. The fighting began and for a moment it seemed as if Tengri had abandoned us when our center broke, but the brave shaman Umor lead a counter charge against the Avars and killed the enemy general, High Chief Uturgur, crushing their moral. The months that followed involved us chasing down what was left of the once great avarian army until they were completely subjugated. Leaving no choice to the survivors then to make me the Khan of the Avars and depose the last Avarian dynasty.

 

The Marshal prowess of the great Krum Khan had only increased in the battle, he studied the likes of Alexander the Great with great intensity and the local lords even began to imitate his battle tactics

 This was also not the only good news as my shamans told me my wife was now pregnant, nine months later a young and healthy baby girl was born named Gunes, the whole Khanate rejoiced with this news except my greedy cousin Telerig , the ex Khan. He finally showed his true colors by declaring a civil war to regain his position right after the war with the Avars was over. I quickly led my armies to deal with him.

 

 We had won the battle but our beloved Khan would never be the same again, a treacherous blow from the back hit the Khan right off his horse and sent him spiraling straight towards the ground. Once the battle was over the shamans tried their best to awake the fallen Khan to no avail, he was in a long sleep and their best guest said he had months to live.

Of course our new Khan should have a military education, what good would his Khanate be if he cannot control it? Besides, I expect that this new Khan will be the one to expand his influence much further across Europe.

I believe that the Magyar would be the next best target, but I don't really know your military statistics as of right now.

We should learn from the mistakes of Khan Krum. Diplomacy is the right choice, Omortag already shows promise in the field.
