zaezae 1098 Share Posted June 30, 2015 Firstly, lol, no you aren't getting someone in jail. You would honestly have better luck filing a complaint with that person's ISP. They'll be able to see someone launching a DoS attack. Secondly, a DDoS is not a virus. It's using a network (bot-net) to send garbage packets into an open part until it's useless. Seriously, unless you are playing a game with terribad security (which all you have to do is close to stop the attack), or you're literally using your home computer as a server, then you're pretty safe from DDoS. DDoS, is in my opinion, just a popular choice for hack-u-zating someone. It is to be taken with a very large grain of salt. The best way to protect yourself is to not touch your router. Srsly. Graf 135 Share Posted June 30, 2015 I actually work at a company, to where I safe-guard against DDOS attacks ( which are quite common, believe it or not, for a small company! ) aswell as doing this that and the other, yes I could of gone into depth about what a DDOS actually is, but i've simplified it to terms that are just.. simple. I could of further gone into what different types of DDOS attacks are but with this it would further go out of laymans terms as soon as I mention one, feel free! Further gone to court on the matter against someone that had attempted to DDOS the network at work, and it is an open and shut case, as soon as you threaten it or actually attempt it, you are guilty.yh my dad works at microsoft he'll ban u off halo in all seriousness, here's how you can reduce your chances of being ddosed:websites like skypegrab can find your ip just from your skype name, however you can protect yourself like I have:it's really rather simple.tools, optionsadvanced, conectioncheck dat dere boxbob's your uncle, chuck's your mother. your ip can't be resolved by websites. while this doesn't protect you 100%, it should stop kiddies with VPNs getting to you. no bullshit "ddos protection" job at a company required. have fun kids.
Yamnothere 197 Author Share Posted June 30, 2015 https://securelist.com/threats/trojan-ddos/ Explanation of Trojan DDOS, just because you've heard of how hackers hack your IP, and DDOS'd someone, it does not mean a denial of service is simply based on this that and the other, no.. in order to commit a DDOS, you must first have a host of computers ready to flood this 'IP-.. Ya'know what, you're all more then willing to read one thing, ignore the other and call me a twit, feel free to comment the same, but read the aforementioned blog. The base of a DDOS is having an amount of computers infected with a Trojan, it is a way of PREVENTING DDOS attempts, none specifically upon you, but prevention of DDOS on total. Destroyer_Bravo 1054 Share Posted June 30, 2015 wouldnt you use a trojan for like building a botnet if anything?
Yamnothere 197 Author Share Posted June 30, 2015 wouldnt you use a trojan for like building a botnet if anything? This is basicly what i've been getting at this entire time, The best way to prevent a DDOS attack is by inabiling the ability of creating a 'Zombie armie' otherwise coined as a bot-net, yes, ignore everything I have said, listen only to 'The middle line' comment on that instead... But hey i'm done..

Yamnothere 197 Author Share Posted June 30, 2015 Dude no, you've been saying that these trojan viruses can somehow be used to DDoS you. Not that they will make a botnet. Trojans are used to infect a computer. infected computer joins a host of other computers Computers cram into a single router, -.. eurgh I did not mean litually for f-.. Im out, done, done, done, done, done, Out.. Just because I didn't explain how a trojan can somehow be used to cause a DDOS, it does not imply I said that a Trojan is the only thing needed to DDOS, "the most common form of a DDOS attack is caused by a trojan" On the blogs I have posted it even says this! But nobody will apologise because now they seem stupid, they will further just make me seem like a dumb *****, but hey, 3 pages full of ages 13 - 19 of people whom have just been deemed techies is right, nobody did read any of the articles. they just read what was going on, half the bloody conversation is on my ruddy links. I could of been more clear in the following posts, but damn it, I even posted blogs that help to explain this. My original post was not simply about preserving yourself, Yet was more about how you can contribute to stopping a singular type of DDoSing, I explained somewhat what a DDoS is, I explained that through use of Trojans a DDoS attack is made, okay I could of been more clearer, but in my posts I also mentioned blogs, and through those blogs, there are further links to other blogs INSIDE of the blog that does help to explain what a DDoS is, In my first post I also linked a blog where if you have the ability to mess with your router, you can better safeguard yourself, but above that I had better posted how you can not become part of a dosnet, further protecting other players from Attacks, And it May be common knowledge not to download stuff you dont trust, but many of you cant even read, so why shouldn't I remind you? Why shouldn't I start something where players can even Contribute. граф сука блять Contributed on how to hide your IP over skype. Good on him, although it is a shame he took the p*ss a bit. I apologise for how angry I have got in this comment, but im having a really bad bloomin'day. I exited LoTC my SECOND day of being unbanned because of behavior where I have been targetted for attacks, Admins, and players alike screaching at me how I should not of been unbanned, how scummy I was, Players in this thread. I came back TODAY with a heart set on staying on the server, yet I have already -Today- given my items and Minas away to randomers because of skype comments, threats, threads, Comments in the side bar, to a community that has prided itself on being friendly, you know how to make others leave.. Ok, nvm, I was wrong, re-read your posts and you never explicitly said what you thought it was. Apologies. But your guide is still pretty useless, and you seem to show either a lack of understanding on the topic or an inability to communicate your ideas as clear as possible.
