Unexpected Downtime

Hello ladies and gents,

We're currently experiencing some difficulties on the server and so we've put the server into maintenance mode while we investigate.

For those of you curious exactly "What's happening?" Ever since the 1.8.7 update we've been having consistent issues of the server timing itself out. It doesn't necessarily "crash" as it more so gets a process or something similar that causes the server to enter into a mode of stasis where it doesn't send nor receive traffic. The big issue we're running into is there's no particular error one way or the other - it just happens. We're looking into potential causes, but it's a process that may take us a while because for the most part we can't replicate it on our own.

So, hang tight while we continue to look into this pressing issue.

Perhaps going back to an earlier version instead? I'm not super into programming, but I know my dad will have a second server for troubleshooting newer versions so that the websites he's working on don't lose traffic. I dunno how that'd work for MC though.

Kowamans plugins had a failsafe which causes a memory leak when his name is said in game or typed onto a sign.

You said it can't be replicated, so does that mean you have yet to have it happen while in dev mode? If so, wouldn't that possibly point towards it being something the players are doing? (Little buggers probably set up a long line of pistons attached to a redstone clock.)
