It would depend on what your intent was. Why was the new child (daughter) the product of sin, or worse than their other children? Why did the man think he needed to remove her?

The man and his wife had sex outside of the explicit permission of the creator, and their union yielded the daughter. The man wanted to hide this from the creator, and felt that by murdering his daughter he could accomplish this.
