Fallout: Echos from a Long Dead Land

(A Post Nuclear Apocalyptic FRP)

After a long 20 years, the first vaults began to open. As the survivors filed out into the wastelands with their Garden of Eden Creation Kits, praising Vault-Tec for their survival, they set out to create a new civilization. To restore the American dream, as the propaganda films that had been projected within their vaults had insisted. Some went on to aid the savage survivors on the surface and create communities out of the ruins of the world that they had left behind; others established their own towns and oases in the great desert of radiation and death that the world now was.

And so humanity had survived to live another age. But not an age of iron or bronze, or of culture or information, but in an Age of Radiation and despair.

One generation after the first vault dwellers have left their vaults, in the year 2120, the world has begun to evolve into quite a unique and different place, filled with the descendants of the survivors of the bombs and the vault dwellers alike, as well as... other things, in the wastes, such as ghouls and mutants. But which towns and factions will thrive in this new world, and which will die off? Who's to know.

All that is known for sure is that war...

...war never changes.

NEW ALASKA

General Layla Chase was not having a good day. That very morning, one of her scouts had reported a grisly scene over across the tributary in Anchorage proper. A group of heavily armed super-mutants, along with a pack of feral ghouls, had been found burned in a mass grave, seemingly mowed down by a heavily armed and organized group. General Chase ruminated upon this, heavily concerned that such an armed force could be within Anchorage without being sighted. Someone was very, very good at not being found or tracked.

Shifting her gaze out from over the frigid Knik Arm tributary, she noted the very last touches being put in place to her "floating fortress". Ironside, the capitol of New Alaska has been founded.The name of the town comes from the aircraft carrier that was scuppered to create the town, the USS Ironside.

Around it sprawls the shanty-towns and crumbling city of Point Mackenzie. General Chase had chosen this location, downriver from the old capital, as Anchorage was a crumbling, irradiated den full of feral ghouls, and recently and most alarmingly, armed super mutants of a like and behavior she had never seen before. Not exactly a place for human survivors.

1. New Alaska's Capitol, Ironside, is created. (red square)

2. The settlement Kodiak Naval Base is founded. (yellow dot)

3. New Alaska concedes the counties of Anchorage, Matanuska-Susitna and Kenai Peninsula, having suffered too heavy losses due to irradiation, feral ghouls and perhaps worse, scattered yet dangerous Super Mutants.

4. General Chase sends out scouts to try and contact the other group inhabiting the county of Anchorage. She sends them with a message of peace and cooperation, eager to not start a fight with the first well-armed group she has seen in the Alaskan wastes. (purple arrow)

Mr. House

Mr. House was able to survive the onslaught of the Great War by constructing a series of laser cannons which he mounted on the roof of the Lucky 38. He sheltered himself in his hibernation chamber preserving his body indefinitely. He has been awake for nearly 60 years, but now he has awaken to assert his control over the nearby dominion and take control over Las Vegas. 

The doors of the Lucky 38 open, and out emerge the Securitron Mark I which serve as Mr. House's body while he operates them from his chambers. Within no time at all, he annihilates the surrounding hostile tribals and takes control of the strip. The Securitrons quickly sweep across the city, and the surrounding counties poise little threat to his domain.

 

Mr. House asserts limited control over the following region:

To keep himself happy, he creates a new persona for one of the Securitrons. He designates her "Jane." He also creates the robot "Victor," and he designates this robot as his right hand; Victor will handle all diplomatic ventures, both internal and external of New Vegas. 

After a few weeks following his release, Mr. House begins to negotiate and set up discussions with the surrounding tribals.

 

Actions:

1. Mr. House sends Victor to negotiate with the surrounding tribals, hoping to incorporate at least three tribes into New Vegas which will aid him in reconstructing the city and gaining much needed human personnel to his army ((Mod)): 

2. Mr. House's Securitrons begin patrolling the city, trying to maintain and promote his control/reign over the citizens. 

Current Assets [Please Check This ((Mod))]: 

500 Securitron Mark I: The Securitron Mark I comes equipped with a 9mm sub-machine gun, M-235 missile launchers attacked to their shoulders, and G-28 grenade launchers. To compensate, Mr. House has a limited number of these Securitrons, he is incapable of making more, and they cannot perform human roles such as building, fitting into tight spaces, or negotiating extensively (Victor is a special exception as his design is more personal and intricate).

SMITHSONIA

On March 15th, 2120, Michael Huss was sworn Consul of the Smithsonian Republic. A war-hero and mastermind general of the Paramus Wars, Consul Huss won over sixty percent of the constituency; only the legendary founder of the Smithsonian Republic, Bryan Mosquera, could claim such support from his countrymen. Consul Huss lorded over one of America's last bastions of civilization, the purple and white a standard that inspired pride across the Hudson river. Blue and red made together betwixt the rising eagle formed the Smithsonian standard, a banner which flew over a population of just under a million peoples. From Dorsia to Princeton, Smithsonia was defined by its large swarths of farming communities, its industrial heartlands in the north, and the jewel of the east, the Long Isle of Smithsonia and her capital, Smithtown. Guarded by sea, the urban epicenter of the fledgling nation thrived with commerce in life amidst the apocalypse  Lights hummed in the city streets and its Capitol building forged of the rubble of the Smithtown mall was the Republic's cradle.

 

Consul Huss longed over a primitive map of the Northeast. At once, he recognized critical nodes of expansion; reclaiming all of Connecticut and the Great Lanta was Smithsonia's due. A legion of ten-thousand regulars were sent north of New Hope to colonize the Connecticut frontier, establishing a border against the Bostonians. Huss soon after penned word to the Governor of Ghoul York, the rancid Dean Dibley, to raise its army of another ten-thousand Ghouls, many militia, to civilize the Lantian wastes of Jersey. A hell-march north and south would give the Smithsonian fighting forces the experience they would need for greater campaigns. 

 

Whilst some members of the Liberty Party protested the rash military actions, their voice was dulled in the Senate in lieu of nationalist spirit Smithsonia had prospered as of late, and its urban holdings swelled with men eager to settle the frontiers. As part of the Consul's military agenda, he also pushed through legislation to begin funding, research, and organization of an energy weapons division of the Republic's standing army. Whilst the army corps were some of the most disciplined in the wasteland, if their technology stagnated they would be no match for future rivals.

Smithsonia expands in the following directions, utilizing two armies of 10,000 each to settle them. Its northern army consists of entirely human regulars, whilst the other consists of 5000 trained ghoul regulars and 5000 ghoul milita

Smithsonia begins collectivizing its pool of energy weapons in an attempt to conscript, arm, and train five-thousand male citizens into an energy weapons regiment. 

 

Smithsonia's current military forces are as follows;

30,000 trained regulars, 5,000 being ghouls.

Regulars are equipped with;

Semi-automatic service rifles

9mm pistols

Frag grenades

Reinforced leather breastplate atop standard issue combat armor

Northern Imperium of America

Within the wilds and corroding highways throughout Northern Michigan the men and women of the Imperium are hard at work rebuilding civilization in their leaders own image. Believing themselves to be Humanity's only hope for restoration of the world the leaders have branded Mutants and Ghouls as Impure, for only those who are truly human can have any hope of a future. Mutants and Ghouls have long been purged from society within the Imperium.

The Capital of Grayling has long been under construction as they try to rebuild a sprawling metropolis to signify progress and unity. The inner territories of the Imperium see stricter laws and stronger infrastructure. Only the Elite Royal Imperium Guard are armed with the small amount of military grade assault weapons and explosives.

The outer territories of the Imperium are mostly outposts and farmland, cities and small settlements look out for themselves as their Militias are armed with rifles and jury rigged metal weapons.

The Imperium Military Command orders a small contingent of Conscripted Soldiers to explore deeper into the infested and untamed lands of Detroit in search of Factories, Technology, but most importantly mapping for strategic locations for when the Military finally plans its campaign to restore and completely purge Detroit of its infestation hoping to return it to the great city it once was. Blood Phoenix Alliance

Warlord Artalius Devero, born of the Anu'kei Tribe in Phoenix, Arizona, of vault 195. The vault was an a self sustaining nightmare, to see what would happen if trained men and women of the apocalypse, could survive the apocalypse. So, the vault was suited with weather changing simulation, vast, open rooms, weapons littered in crates throughout the vault's many rooms. With over Three-thousand residents of the vault, the onboard computer that controlled the majority systems to control the environment and scenarios within the fault, constantly pumped air born hormones through the air, turning the vault into a regressing, bloodbath of horror. When the vault was nearing its end, the systems falling into disarray with constant scavenging, the hormones running low and the reason to fight seeming lost, their home in ruins; Artalius stood with his tribe and rallied the many other tribes, such as the Skullrampards Tribe, the Guy'Deni Tribe, and the Firehands Tribe, and many others into one unified force, that force would be known as the Blood Phoenix Alliance. The name would come as they stepped into the wasteland ruins of Phoenix and from there, the conquest began as they took Phoenix, slowly, into their new home. They pushed on both side of the city, until they claimed their capital city of Gon'gorei

From their, they made their warpath known by going to the East and West side, conquering every village, settlement, cave, resource, weapon and person they could rally into one unified fighting machine. With their lands settled and their men equipped, they make their journey north, the Warpath to conquer Arizona begins.

1. Artalius sends out war parties to conquer northern settlements and landmarks
2. Artalius, leaves to conquer the last of Arizona as another Warlord takes control of Gon'Gorei.
3. Four landmarks are outside the capital:
-The Plantations: A field of plants and vegetables to feed the armies of the Alliance, based far outside the capital city, to the north. The plantation is occupied by the Guy'Deni tribe.
-Fort Tyn'Tyn and Fort Firepower: Fort Tyn'Tyn is northwest of Gon'Gorei while Fort Firepower is in the opposite direction, Southeast, they  monitor the city and its surroundings with fierce determination. The Skullrampard and Firehands Tribe controls these two forts.
-The Oasis: A minor water pumping status that is currently draining its stores of somewhat irradiated water into the plants, at the Plantations, to give a constant supply of food.
4. The current military force is using classic weaponry, such as:
9mm, Caravan Shotgun, Hunting Rifle 44. Magnum and Hunting Knifes. Their common soldier would wear Gecko skinned Leather Armor, while their warlords would wear Metal Armor.

--Actions--
1. Artalius is moving North, conquering, controlling or working his way to unifying everything under his Alliance, by any means. 
2. Wars Parties are scavenging through the remaining areas in controlled territory, as well as joining Artalius in the North to bring back supplies.
3. Gon'Gorei is taking the opportunity to fortify itself by building extra defences.
4. Gon'gorei attempts to research into electronics and machines.

Knik Cossack Host

Gleb had only just woken up, one of his trusted advisors coming into his make-shift hut to alert him of scouts. He got up, telling the advisor to gather a small troop and then saddling up his own reindeer. He armed himself with a 10mm pistol, the rest of his troops holding an array of BB guns, rifles, and pistols. The group quickly rode off, Gleb and his advisor at the front. As soon as they reached the scouts the Knik cossacks encircled them with their reindeer.

The cossack forces slowed to a halt, only Gleb and the advisor sliding off of their reindeers. They approached the New Alaskan forces carefully, both of their hands ready to pull their weapons on the group if hostile. Gleb held up a hand to his advisor mid-way, walking up to the group's supposed leader. They had spoke for a while, the leader showing a paper to him. Gleb raised his arms, letting out a “Ha! This is a great day for the host!” He shook the leader's hand excitedly, pulling him over to his reindeer. Gleb took out a pen, writing over the paper before handing it back to the leader along with a bottle of ‘Oleney Mochoy,’ an alchoholic drink made by a local in Anchorage.

Gleb, remembering the friendly relations between the U.S.S.R. and the U.S. had sent a military alliance request to the New Alaskan leader.

  1. The New Alaskan and the Knik Cossack Host will form a defensive military alliance, helping each other in defensive struggles against other nations or factions.

  2. The Knik Cossack Host also requests for a trade agreement to be organized.

Gleb yelled something in Russian, climbing back up onto his reindeer. The cossacks quickly rode off, riding back east to the Knik Arm. As he reached the forces main building he gathered a group to go explore a county to the north east, asking them to report back anything odd or interesting up north and to bring back anything carryable.

The Lonestar Republic

On the day of January 6th, 2120, Ben Watson was sworn into the Lone Council. He was a engineering mastermind, he helped engineer the construction of 'The Bridge' and 'Reunion. He became the populations favorite after he announced his plans to run for the Head Chair in the council. He won 90% of the vote something unheard of in the Republic. The beautiful city of Reunion, formally known as Dallas pre-war, was surrounded by desert just like most of the State of Texas. This was Lonestar's best defense and also it's biggest weakness. It limited food growth to select areas of the Republic. Lucrative trade deals were made with the so-called Indian nations north of the republic. This drove Ben absolutely nuts, and it was a main reason why he ran for election. The scouting and expansion into northern Texas and southern Oklahoma for Brahmin breeding grounds and fertile farming ground, was first on the agenda for the council.

The formation of the Lone Rangers was meant to be a universal elite police force that protected the republic's borders, enforce it's laws, and protect the president. These troops were the best of the best and Ben sought to expand their numbers, to 1,000 Rangers. This would cut down the active military force to about 4,000 active and a large militia of 30,000.

The Rangers equipment would be equipped with the best gear that the Republic had to offer

An American Sniper rifle

or

A Military grade assault rifle, in very good condition

A .357 Magnum and a combat knife

reinforced leather armor, survival kit including military grade stimpaks, one repair kit, and enough food and water to last them five days on their own.

The Militia would be semi well-armed with

Caravan shotguns, hunting rifles, 10mm pistols.

or  their own melee weapons.

The campaign to the north would give the militia men and the newly recruited rangers combat experience needed to be effective against what other nations out there.

On February 18th, Gratian woke from his sleep, sore from the labors of the previous few days.  He climbed from his bed, and stepped to the window of his home, at the pinnacle of the Tower, center of the Nightcast Capital, Gratia. The people had chosen the name, to Gratian's dismay. He had no desire to have their capital named after him, because he did not feel like a leader. He felt as he should; a simple mutant, trying to survive against the hostilities of his world.

As he ate his breakfast, another mutant came into his room. "Sir, we have received word of sighting of another city, north of ours."

Gratian finished chewing, and glanced to the messenger. "Send word to Jaques, and tell him to send a small scouting party north. If the scouts believe we can work together, they are to approach with diplomatic intents."

The messenger nodded, and ran to reach Jaques, the scout master. Gratian finished his meal, and looked out the window once more. Outside, he could see the City, the walls still standing, and the mutants scurrying from place to place. Today, the fertility center had to be finished, so that the fertile mutants could begin breeding. Gratian stood and with a last glance out the window, headed out, to guide and protect his people. From nightkin, to mutant, to abomination, they would be welcome, so long as they worked.

Oakland Raiders

The newly declared 'Khan' Harold or as he is now called "The Great Khan" sits in a room lit by candles and subpar electricity bulbs, he can see all the way to the end of the room but most importantly his elevated throne allows him to veiw over all his advisors and council members as they sat in their quite ordinary seats which were adjacent to a large oval table, 'The Great Khan' being on the end of it. 'Great Khan' was quite happy with himself, taking a quick sip of his whisky before addressing the council and advisors.

"We stand at turning point my brothers and sisters, we're the strongest group this side of the West Coast now all we need to do is make sure it stays that way. We all have a space to fill in this coming Empire -- Some more that others but I say, a toast to what will be and what can be!"  The councilmen and advisors would drink from the glasses that have so timingly been put out by the slaves, the councilmen and advisors clapping and cheering after chugging their drinks.

After the initial toast to victory, 'The Great Khan' would go over the needed objectives of his men and what they are to do, the first being that Oakland and San Francisco are to be made into proper cities. Fortification of them both is to take place, as well as looking for water and setting up farms. Next is looking for viable gangs to integrate and industry to make use of.

1.  The slaves are made set up proper infrastructure in the towns of Oakland and San Francisco, such as water systems, farming and fortification.

2 . In groups of 50 the raiders would attempt to search for settlements, industry or any other useful things in those countries. They are equipped with Rifles, Pistols and Melee Weapons.

Mr. House

   After quickly occupying the city and the surrounding territory, Mr. House renames the ruins of Las Vegas New Vegas. He incorporates three tribes into New Vegas and grants them each their own casino: The Chairmen, the White Glove Society, and the Omertas. Each have their own agendas, but they have agreed to join due to overwhelming force, promises of caps, and glory. These three families constitute the bulk of Mr. House's human army, as well as his retainers.

   With the Mojave loosely under his control, Mr. House begins the reconstruction and fortification of the strip. The tribals are sent out around the city to secure metal, glass, and neon from local shops. Mr. House and the three families set to work on repairing the the Strip and isolating it from the rest of the city. A gate is constructed to keep unwantables out, and it is manned by several Securitrons. 

   Mr. House spends his afternoons with Jane; she offers him comfort and solace. They spend long hours into the night, holding conversations which allow him to retain some hold on his humanity. She tempers his actions and lets him remain in control of his emotions. 

   After several weeks, Mr. House decides that some actions must be taken. In order to return the strip to its former glory and start generating revenue from it, he will need to find a power source. He could retake Hoover Dam, but manning it with his current army would be far too daunting and restrict his ability to manage, scout and conquest. Instead, he orders that the families split up. He delegates each a task that will advance the completion of the Strip.

 

Territory:

Mr. House looks to expand East into Zion Valley and fortify his position as ruler of New Vegas. 

Actions:

  • A handful of Chairmen are sent North and East, through a pass leading to Zion Valley on a scouting mission. They are looking for viable food sources and trade routes, as well as to take new land ((Mod)). 
  • The remainder of the Chairmen are sent outside of the strip to make contact with the locals that did not put up a fight against Mr. House and attempt to assimilate them peacefully, promising food and security. This is to better secure and prevent internal problems before Mr. House expands. 
  • The Omertas are sent to Nellis Air Base, North East of New Vegas, to take over and hold it. They are looking for assault weapons ((Mod)). 
  • The White Glove Society remain in the Strip to fortify and repair it for its opening.
  • The Securitrons attempt to police and assert influence on the people of Mr. House's territory to validate his claim.
  • In the Lucky 38, Mr. House and his personal staff of Securitrons attempt to upgrade Victor with higher software that will allow him to hack into terminals for an upcoming mission ((Mod)). 

 

Current Assets:

6,500 Tribals: The 6,500 tribals are divided evenly among Mr. House's strip families. They have limited gear: pistols, machetes, and raider-esque gear (Merc, Veteran, Charmer outfits, etc).
