“Zeus, Zeus, Zeus!”

The rasped cries of the ghoulish horde echo through the ruins of the Nebraskan cities. The streets are lined with the pickings of lone survivors, burnt and crucified upon make-shift power-poles.

The decaying legion of raiders, or so they’ve been coined The Immortals by small settlements which litter the outskirts of Nebraska are a sight to behold. Their approach to everything is the simple hatred of everything that is not mutated, mutation is perfection.

 

Graffiti is normally a common sign of the presence of the gang, instructions on the exact depictions of the band are told to them all. “Leave a sign”, the ringleader seems to echo towards the rest of the horde.


The horde is adorned with make-shift leather armor, scavenged and hastily put on by the members. Those who are still sane wear the armor effectively, whereas the ferals which are used like dogs have simple studded straps of leather covering their necks and joints.

The horde is characterised into two simple regiments, the “shooters” and the “hitters”.

1,500 Ghoul Shooters:

These are the sane ghouls which have taken arms, most of them haven’t shown the brutality of their superiors and hence are kept to the use of 9mm. pistols and ill-functioning semi-automatic rifles which have been scavenged from the recent Brahmin raids.

2,000 Ghoul “Hitters”:

These are the ghouls which are better equipped in terms of armor. The leather armor they adorn is covered in makeshift spikes and paint which depicts their speciality. The weapons they are normally kept with are makeshift metal pipes, that have been melded to contorted chunks of metal. Also baseball bats littered in metal and the occasional machete or two. These ghouls also control the bulk of the feral pack.

750 Feral Ghouls:

The ferals are normally leashed and brought with the nomadic sect of the raiders. Simply used as attack dogs, when they are released they charge at a disgusting pace, normally the hitters placing pieces of metal into their decaying flesh to maximise the brutality of the insane beasts.




 

The horde seems to migrate from their usual spot, transferring to their west at the rumored military instillations on the Nebraskan South-East. Their force splitting into a roughly equal two divisions to scout these bases.

On the way, both groups attempt to arm their forces with better weapons. The hordes aiming to attack any “smoothskins” on the way that are in small groups and perhaps ill-armed. If any other ghouls are found, the radicalised leaders would attempt to convert them to the cause of the Immortals.

ACTIONS:

Horde has been introduced ((Groups of 2,125 ghouls split to a rough, even total.)), they split and head south-east towards the rumored military instiliations to scout them out and see if they are ripe for looting. ((MOD PLZ))

 

Both groups attempt to salvage parts on the way to the base, trying to gather supplies to sustain their populations ((MOD PLZ))

 

Recruitment of ghouls is attempted, not a very high or concentrated number but simply a few stragglers ((MOD PLZ))

 

Any Brahmin Caravans that are ill-guarded will be attempted to be intercepted by either horde if they come across them on their travels. ((MOD PLZ))

Gleb Pasternak

Gleb read the recent reports of the happenings in Slantsy, unsure of what to do with the colony. Worrisome that the group who defeated them in Douglass county would attempt to attack the city, and dared to think what would happen if they proceeded north afterwards. He knew the recently trained regiment 4 wasn’t ready to face the groups down south, and the reindeers could barely survive in the slightly different environment. He couldn’t risk it, not without the weaponry.

Gleb recalled what remained of regiment 2, sending them and the regiment 1 to scout out the undiscovered remains of the other half of Anchorage that had been left to them by the New Alaskan government. They had kept a walled border along the region since before they had retrieved it, leaving it to whatever may remain there. He hoped to find the weaponry he needed within those ruins, along with whatever long undiscovered technology may be within.

Miroslav Krupin

Miroslav was angry about the loss in Douglass, hoping to pull another county under his power as he had done before, though he was more enraged by Gleb pulling out the reinforcements from Slantsy. He worried for Slantsy and himself, mostly himself, though he looked for a way to defend the colony effectively and efficiently. As he thought he looked up to the Space Needle, it seemed to be completely intact, though the glass was shattered and the insides were burnt to a crisp. He sent a group of engineers, construction workers, and a large group of citizens to repair the Space Needle, then proceeding it to use it as a lookout point.

Roman Empire of Tallahassee

The new ruler of Tallahassee wasn't very happy. He was the the Emperor (the second one, as well), yet things were not going his way. Immediately the native English-speaking population were demanding "equality" and "fairness." Bah. They were inferior and stupid peoples, Latin barbarians who needed to be taught the real way. 

To make things worse, these were not the only internal rivals he had. All over his tiny little empire rival claimants and even people who wanted to republic were popping up everywhere. 

The army was numerous but neglected. It was made of two types: the "Auxilia" who were the elite citizen-soldiers armed mostly with rifles such as the Chinese type 93 and the American r91. But the limitanei made up the bulk of the troops and were little more than a poorly trained militia. 

The city of Tallahassee itself was wrought with a disease, which has been named the "Plague of Leon" after the Emperor whose reign it began in. Manpower was deteriorating rapidly. 

Army (Mod Approval)

The army has around 500 elite auxiliaries mostly equipped with rifles, with most squads of 10 having a single general purpose or light machine gun. 

There are two heavy weapons divisions, whose teams are assigned and given to different units. Each division contains 8 mortars (5 light, 2 medium and 1 heavy) and 12 heavy machine guns. 

The empire can call on around 3,000 of the adult male population as limitanei, who are essentially poorly-equipped levies. 

The Empire also has a large slave population used for labour, but these are only very rarely called upon to fight.

Actions

-The auxiliaries are sent to scavenge in Imperial territory and discover pre-war sites, medicines, technology, literature and weaponry. It is hoped they will find a way to may reading widespread among the people... ((mod))

 

-Internal political rivals are dealt with by the sword. The Basileus sends troops to incarcerate his detractors, and castrate the more notable ones. ((mod))

 

-The Emperor's brother and heir apparent is sent east to discover foreign realms. it is hoped we will meet another major power. ((mod)) 

 

-The emperor implements a new rule, those who try to avoid being levied by self-mutilation will be executed. It is hoped this will increase the manpower of the limitanei. He also begins to train them up, hoping to turn them into a somewhat effective military unit. It is hoped that with the weaponry they get from scavenging, they will turn into an equal of other soldiers. ((mod))

 

-More of the population, particularly in the capital, are encouraged to adopt a form of Eastern Christianity, and their children are practically adopted into their ruler's customs and values. It is hoped their children will grow out of their American ways and forget American ideals. ((mod))

The Great Cleansing had happened, many years ago, the majority Cajun Francophones people has not forgotten their faith, as they believe that Saint Louis has appeared to them in the great exodus to New Orleans. The Archon-General ordered the reconstruction of a pro-cathedral, in the skeleton of an old church and the immediate election of a Bishop by the left over priests.

The council of Archons debated on the recent reports from the scouts. The ill scouts were quarantined and treated as best as possible, another party is sent to talk with the Creole pagans ((Will RP with a Mod)). The vertibird and plasma weapons are taken back to New Orleans for repairs and fixing. ((Mod Please))

A Admiralship is created as the fleet starts to grow. A old sailor named Thomas de la Havre, a half cajun half american, is elevated into said position, his first task is to explore the coast of Florida, or how the Archons call it,  Nouveau Terre de Saint Louis.

The Ship would carry about 70 people, and Orlean biggest export, Brahims, be it live or dead. They’d also carry some standard weaponry for trading and self defence.

As the ship sailed through the coast of Nouveau Terre de Saint Louis, they saw smoke rise near the beach of Panama City, they see movement and people, they decide to land and go to the town, the large posse comes to find a small policing force, Thomas steps towards the front of his caravan, he says;

The Northern Imperium of America

The inner territory of the Imperium grows at a steady pace, though much is left to be desired. Due to this the Imperium due to its resources being sent south to fund and supply the invasion of Detroit. Only small and manageable expansions are made.

With many days of training and practice, alongside the great efforts and manpower. The 7,000 Troops that have been assembled gather at their prospective bases. President Ian himself along with Brigadier General Adam Sarvonske take a back seat from Camp Blackguard, their Forward Operating Base to coordinate the invasion. Which will take several stages before it gains full momentum. They look to the map as the invasion begins.

"The Humans have all denied our offer...they side with the Ghouls and Mutants that infest Detroit. The Imperium will only offer its Grace and Order once..Commence the invasion."

The Red Markers indicate the 2,000 Militia commencing the initial invasion, they're role is to move forward until significant resistance is met and hold their ground. The remaining 3,000 Militia and 2,000 Soldiers stand at the ready to reinforce the initial invasion force. Once the Initial Invasion force makes hard contact with a significant resistance the 3,000 Militia on Standby move in to fortify what ground has been gained while the 2,000 remain on Ready Status for tactical deployment. The Soldiers are to give no mercy to those that oppose their invasion. Ghouls and Humans are K.O.S

Peace was far behind them, these peoples were born of the blood and raised of the blood. Almost as feral as the mutants and ghouls just recently joining into the pact. Those planning within 'The Fort' order messengers to deliver news to all the inhabitants of Detroit as well as sending messages to neighboring factions that may possibly join if given incentive.

With the pact's people being so diverse, many options are given to Fort Leaders. With Detroit being a pre-war automobile hub, many tribals and raiders tried their hands at repairing and modifying Detroit's cars and trucks.

The leaders of The Fort are hard at work assembling their military force. However, They don't have much time before their enemy marches upon their lands. War leaders send their raider militia head-first into the battlefront. They also send their tribals towards the battle from the west, attempting to ambush the enemy. Medical groups are sent closely behind the raiders in an attempt of saving as many lives on the battlefield as possible.

The Gothic Tribes of Skrælinge

At first the lands of Maine had been strange to the settlers, who had fled the increasingly barren and dying island that had been their home, Ísland, in a great weeks-long exodus upon a huge fleet led by the High Gothi, that cost many lives to take. By the time they landed upon the relatively balmy shores of North America, they had lost a good fifth of the population in the exodus and though almost alien to them, the settlers saw firm ground after weeks at sea as nothing less than a divine blessing. It is no surprise then that these settlers fought tooth and nail with the native inhabitants of Maine, known to the settlers as Skrælinge, and came out victorious. The Íslendingar chose not to massacre the sane human inhabitants, instead integrating them, but a bloody slaughter was carried out on the crazed and the mutated and the ghoulish, leaving none to tell the tale. The remaining humans were somewhat grateful that what had been an endless battle with the now dead inhumans, and begrudgingly accepted Íslendingar rule and their odd tech-worshipping religion. There had been peace in Maine and for the Íslendingar for the first time in a long time.

This was 25 years ago. Since then, the natives and the Íslendingar have become far closer and the events 25 years prior are remembered by both peoples, which were steadily becoming one, as a war that changed the fate of both for the better. In fact, there are not many Mainers or Íslendingar who call themselves such any more; most now refer to themselves as Skrælingjar. The population has grown at a healthy rate to around 200,000, many of the children born of mixed heritage. The effective capital of Rokkland boasts the bulk of that at around 60,000 inhabitants, with the remaining 140,000 spread about the many tribes in Skrælinge, each one led by a Gothi, a tech-priest of sorts, who directly answers to the High Gothi. In this time the Skrælingjar had even managed to strengthen their grip on the North American coast to the extent of siezing Cape Cod and Nantucket, and vassalising the Vineyard Whalers of Martha's Vineyard.

The land military is quite large, at roughly 6,000 Icelandic warriors, armed with axes, shields, and submachine guns or assault rifes (mostly the former), and 4,500 Mainer light infantry, who mostly field rifles and shortswords. The navy, though a shadow of the fleet that brought the Íslendingar to Skrælinge, which was mostly cannibalised for settlement, has around 20 Skeid-class longships, which though are in need of minor repair, remain able to navigate many miles off the eastern seaboard without threat from the sea's irradiated nature, though the creatures of the deep and the mega-storms still make it treacherous indeed. To man these vessels are 1,500 Icelandic marines/sailors who wield axes and 9mm pistols, with a few submachine guns per ship. Each ship is also mounted with a 50. cal machine gun to the bow and the stern, which is mostly to defend against sea creatures but would certainly be able to do damage against any more cognizant threats.

The first thing the High Gothi orders is the expansion into and scouting of the lands that border Skraelinge. In order to connect the southern holdings with the main host of Skraelinge, the expansion is ordered primarily along the coast, into what used to be the counties of Strafford and Rockingham. The scouts are sent to the more unknown lands to the west of Skraelinge, into what used to be the counties of Coos, Carroll, Belknap, Grafton, and Essex, mainly in hopes of discovering resources, especially precious metal.  The power station in the south of Skraelinge had sat dormant for far too long, the High Gothi had decided. He sent out several of his most experienced Gothi to the power station in order to see if there was any way it could be restored and renovated in order to generate power for Skraelinge. ((MOD REQUIRED))

2 longships, fully crewed and complemented, set sail southward and begin travelling along the eastern seaboard's coast. The primary aim of the voyage is to discover and make contact with any other nations or communities that lie on the coast. ((MOD REQUIRED))

The Lone Star Republic

President Watson, looked out upon the crowd that had gather below. His face was that filled with joy and excitement, he stood tall with confidence that his people would enjoy the news. “Hello great people of Reunion! Today I stand here to tell you of our recent success in the north. Our brave soldiers, have returned from their valiant victory against the tribals. With that the tribe’s chieftains have surrendered and have accepted our offer of becoming our vassals. These men will fight amongst our soldiers as our auxiliary force. In other news, we have found fertile grounds large enough for us to start breeding our barhmin, this shall open up our struggle on food that has also grasped our great nation. It will also help us become less dependent on trade pacts in the future. I bid you fair well, God Bless the LSR!” Behind him the crowd applauded and cheered at the news. Ben’s face would light up with a smile as the clapping came to his ears. As he walked off he was greeted by his foreign affairs advisor.

The advisor was Ben’s father, a dominate figure to the Republican people. He stood around the same height as Ben at 6’2 but had broader shoulders and looked like a man who had seen his fair share of physical altercations. He guided Ben into the Reunion tower meeting room, a diplomat from the Orelens Federation sat in the seat across from Ben. He spoke on how far he had come and what he had to offer the LSR. However, the only way that the LSR and Orelens Federation could make this work is if their distance to each other was shortened due to the extreme risk of raiders and just being impractical for either of them. The messenger is offered to stay in the Republic for a few weeks to so that he may gather supplies for his trip back.

With most diplomatic situations handled, it was down to military business, rangers would be sent back out to scout past the newly acquired land. These men would be the lifeline of the scouting expeditions for here on out. Their main focus was to survive and report back to Ben. It was very important that their losses were at a minimum. With the newly found combat armor from the armory in their territory the rangers would be equipped with the armor for their personal use.

One last thing that needed to be addressed was the plane and the newly found herbs, the top engineers in the Republic including Ben would take a look at the plane and find a way to get the plane working again. (Ten Post) With the herbs,  the same thing would follow (five post)

To note, all horses are extinct, and it is impossible for the Konig to rally any cavalry whatsoever. At least, horse cavalry... Perhaps if he were to try domesticating some other sort of animal?

The rest of the recruitments go well, however. ((Might want to increase your militia numbers if anything to like 3 or 4k.))

The plant is in disrepair, but might be easily repaired by Kresmunster engineers. ((10 posts from the time of your last one.))

The Republic of Euron:

Construction of the water pipeline goes well, and should be done eventually, if the raiders and tribals keep their distance across the wastes... Lead lined pipes will also be required to keep the drinking water from becoming irradiated, so a gathering of lead throughout the Republic would have to be commended. ((15 posts from the time of your last post.)) 

Though the natives are unsure of what they're doing, they nevertheless are enthused by the prospect that their gods are well pleased with their gift.

The rest of their endeavors go well, and as planned.

Bonerush Mutants:

The mutants succeed in poisoning the three towns, and the populations of each of them begin to die in droves as they're poisoned by the ghastly substance! However, the attempt to turn the population into mutants has failed. The mutants will need to perfect their mutation process before proceeding... Perhaps dip their captives in the vats the FEV comes from instead?

In any case, the coalition uses this incident as a rallying cry, and mostly the women, children, and dregs of the towns were affected by the poisoning. Their manpower is still intact.

As for scientists, about 50 of the 750 captured humans are scientifically adept, and could be used to pursue research projects in the future.

The Lone Star Republic:

Research on the herbs has been completed. It appears that they appear to absorb massive amounts of radiation from a lifeform, drawing it out of them and leaving them radiation free! Though it causes severe diarrhea, radaway might be made with this in the near future. ((10 posts))

The Airplane is finally fixed, and is ready to start flying for the Republic, although it has a limited range of 5 counties before it has to turn back to refuel at base.

The factory that the Lone Star Republic is exploring is inhabited by a group of raiders! They will have to be cleared out before the factory can be put to good use.

The Gothic Tribes of Skrælinge (With slight Smithsonia reference):

The explorers, at the beginning of their expedition, encounter a nasty group of raiders! They wound about 20 of the expedition and kill 10 of their members before they're repelled by their superior weaponry. However, they launch a counter attack, killing another 20 men and wounding yet another 10, this time with much more advanced weaponry... Apparently, there's something they don't want them to find in the direction they're headed?

And there is. The expedition catches sight of a military base in one of the western counties they're exploring, though it's swarming with raiders. If they wish to take the base, they'll have to launch an attack on it and take it from the raiders' cold, dead hands, which might be costly in terms of human life... Unless, you can deceive them?

In any case, the other expeditions are continually harassed by the raiders that inhabit this part of the land; apparently, they maintain a reign of terror over the areas south of Maine. They pose a significant problem to the Tribes' exploration endeavors, and prove to be a severe nuisance with their weaponry. Another military base is discovered as well, though it too is in the hands of the raiders.

The Nightkin:

Detroit and the Northern Imperium of America:

The Imperium's expansions go well, and crops are planted in the new territories, though coastal areas are heavily polluted with irradiated water.

The forces of the Imperium and Detroit clash together, and begin duking it out. Though the Imperium obviously has the advantage of having better training, war equipment, and experience, the people of Detroit are fighting on their own land and have their... surprise vehicles as well, which frighten small pockets of Imperium troops, many of whom have never seen a moving car before in their lives.

However, the Imperium trudges on, and the initial vanguard militia of the Imperium deadlocks with the militia of Detroit, civilian soldier fighting civilian soldier. As the professional forces join in the conflict, further deadlock is reached. One of the two sides is going to have to try something different to break the stalemate of the war...

People's Resistance of Detroit

 

With things at a standstill in Detroit and leaders still awaiting a reply from the diplomats, those at The Fort look a bit more closer to home. While Tribals and Raiders make up the bulk of Detroit, a small group of Mutants have lived within the ironically named, 'Harmony Village'.

The Harmony Village Mutants have always been an integral resource within Detroit, Raiders and Slavers supply the Mutants with slaves and in-turn, the Mutants protect locals of Detroit. Detroit's Mutants have always been much smaller and scrawnier than their D.C. counterparts. It's thought to be caused by their general lack of whatever turns someone into a mutant, or perhaps they were just intended to be this way. Either way, despite their apparent lack of size and muscle, these mutants have vastly superior intellect. This makes dealing with them in a civilized manner much easier.

 

And so, orders would be given to send their last remaining diplomat, (Much to the surprise of the diplomat) into Harmony Village. The Diplomat would be ordered to inform the Mutants of the battle taking place in the Detroit, and that if they are to join in the battle they would be allowed to take any survivors of the enemy as slaves for themselves. With war taking place right on their doorstep and no sign of any of it getting anywhere, leaders set up a small collective of 200 men and 50 Maulers to explore and scavenge the eastern counties for useful equipment and more troops to help with the war effort. ((Mod Please))

NIGHTCAST

As Gratian sits, drinking his first and only glass of whiskey before sleeping, there is a knock at his door. He sighs, disappointed that these few peaceful moments before bed had to be interrupted as well, he asks the person to come in.

A messenger steps through the door, and nods to Gratian. "Gratian, sir, we've received word from the Bonerush mutants about the FEV stealth strike. All of our nightkin returned safely, however, and the strike was partially successful. The FEV the settlers ingested killed every human that came into contact with it. There were no mutants to integrate. Thus, the Bonerush Mutants ask that you send diplomats to negotiate terms of assistance for the upcoming war. Also, the fertility center has sent a report. 40 new mutants have been added to the roster."

Gratian sighs, and nods. "Good. Our numbers are growing, at least. I suppose we should send diplomats to our neighbors... Make sure our diplomats know we hold we hold the better position on this deal. And send word to Baldir-Blackfoot as well, along with the Combat Armor we received in return for nightkin used in the stealth strike. Tell him to equip his warriors with it, and to have them ready for battle, in case they're needed. That will be all."

The messenger nods, and walks out of the room, shutting the door behind him. Gratian sighs, looks into his whiskey, throws it back, and prepares a second, last drink of the night.

Oakland Raiders

 

The Great Khan looked over his map, while outdated it represented what he was up against nonetheless. Enclave (which seemed like power armour wearing soldiers) and the Brotherhood of Steel which seemed more akin to fanatics with a name like that.

“Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend” His Mutant friend had suggested to him at the latest council meeting, which seemed like a good idea all things considered since his raiders can’t exactly beat the Enclave down like some wastelander.

Recruitment would also need to be done as both Civilian and Raider populations are quite small, so with these new given agendas the raider leaders would get to work putting them in motion.

There is a BoS Bunker, Enclave Bunker and a Enclave controlled power plant around Oakland territory.  

The Bay area is nearly entirely under control of the Oakland Raiders.

The Army of 2000 Mutants and 40 Super mutants are sent to set up camp in go through the coalitions territory looking to engage smaller towns guards and capture as many humans as possible falling back from the main body of the Militia to avoid any large battles. (MOD PLZ)

The 50 scientifically adept Humans of the 750 given the job of Developing the FEV to produce Super Mutants more often (MOD PLZ)
