Another Question

Hey there Lotc, it's me again.

When I was new to the server, I posted a few topics asking about the best of the best of the best Lotc had to offer when it came to the server's many militaries and their leaders. Those posts got me hooked on the server, and gave me an understanding of the storytelling value of our platform. Since I've posted those topics, I've gone out and done my own roleplay, worked towards my own goals and causes, and tried my hand at martial affairs myself.

I've seen and done some fun stuff, and heard about ten times that much, and many of the questions that I asked have been answered not only to the replies on my posts, but also through roleplay and interaction with other server members.

So I've come once again with another question, purely to allow debate and discussion. In your opinion, which Noble Houses/Clans/Familial Units have had the biggest impacts on the server's history and development? Why? What did were they good at that allowed them to change so much about how we play?

I expect to see some "household names" in here, but I open this thread up to those whose family history may not have been as well documented as House Horen, per se.

Thanks!

At least for humanity I'd say, Horen, Chivay and Carrion. Maybe Vydra and the Ashford houses, but those have minor impacts in the grand scheme of things.

Imo, Horen, though this might just be because when I joined it was during the last Horenian rule. Also, Oren's name came from Horen I

Within the Humans I'm not the most experienced, but I'd say Chivay and Carrion aswell as Horen.

Most Dwarven clans have an impact, kind of something that happens when you keep a family going for years. I'd say the one that made the biggest difference in general was Irongut.

Elves are not really family based, so I'm not really sure about this.

I believe most Orcish clans have had a difference, as it is similar to the Dwarves.

House Tarus. Ezekiel Tarus was the first king of Renatus. Although he didn't form the Holy Oren Empire, it'd have never existed without him. Pretty much everyone on the Oren Privy Council during Enor Sheffield's reign impacted the server hugely and most are forgotten now. Without the Phoenix rebellion nothing after Aegis would be even remotely recognisable.

And no, I'm not tooting my own horn. I wasn't on it.

House Sheffield was very powerful. They overthrew the original Horens that ruled over humanity until Godfrey! And then betrayed humanity by becoming undead and eating other humans, eventually splitting oren up. Very impacting indeed. Very powerful as well...almost too powerful...

They didn't overthrow the Horens, Edmund Sheffield inherited from Pampo Perea. There wasn't a single House Horen member until Godfrey in Asulon.

Ironguts created the concept of dwarven clans and effected dwarven magic/alchemy culture heavily along with having many kings/politicians. Irehearts led the dwarves into the golden age and made the dwarves are more combat savvy society.

Horen has nothing to do with House Horen. At all. Mog just named his house after him. Oren was called Oren long before Godfrey came around.

For Orcs, def not Azogs. They are more like the 'oh look all these people forgot how bored they got with this type of rp/lotc so they come back and **** up the politics for a few weeks, pvp a bunch, and then leave.'

I'd say like Gorkil. They seem to be always around, more often Rex than not Rex, a lot of the time the biggest clan.

Elves it's hard to say. There aren't really Elven families that have had a large impact on the server, just large Elven families. Probably like the Camoryn people, because, from what I remember, seems like all the big Wood Elf people are connected to that family.

Dwarves I'd say Irongut, but that's only because they are so buttmad about the LM decision from 3 years ago to allow all Dwarves to have magic.

Humans there's a bunch. Probably would be best to pick one for each realm, but I don't remember all them. Horen, if I had to pick one only.
