The voice stung the air it oscillated through, raking at the rocks and sea foam as it passed yet it was spoken weakly, in an ailing voice. The Barrowlord cast his plaited glove out, the metal of his gauntlet finding its way to his face. Woven folds of plates pressed firm, he held onto his face for a long moment. He hissed to the man just anointed, whispering in a feeble volume that blurred among the crashing waves around.

 

“Xionism dwindles, Hualthal dwindles. Our spark loiters here, among the tide.”

 

With heavy footfalls of crude metal upon smoothed stones, Uldrivt paced off from the Barrows and their newfound cove, treading over sand and sprinkled shells. His steps lost their harsh rasps and softened into wet slushes, his walk dipping into water. Deeper and deeper he walked into the shaded shore, making it all the way to waist-deep seas. Drenched, the suited dark elf spread his arms wide and motioned from the onlooker up upon the walkway over the ocean’s turbulent surface to the seafloor below. Under the waters laid numerous towering monoliths of stone, some of their surfaces gleaming with dull, blanched green light and others drab and plain. With the ailing radiance licking up from the depths of the cavern, the waterlogged elf stood back. He latched his view onto the man up on the stone, declaring back to him, “You understand. We require masses.”
