The Wrath of Alamar..

Night had fell on Alamar and the village of Highever, long had the Vimmarks of Saltstone watched from their cliffs the raids of the Red Brothers against their Staunton Liege among many other Orenian Vassals despite the truce being up. Debating within the halls of the great Castle in the North could be heard even from the first tower as those inside debate with passion their arguments. Two Levymen of the Vimmarks turn their heads standing out guarding the Stormcrown Citadel listening in on the heated debates. The Dictator of Vandoria stood with his trusted bodyguard as the Lord of Saltstone Bryce sat upon his throne, his helm on and its wings prominent as he looks on at his Adviser and Knights arguing the points of invasion or neutrality.

The Southern bred adviser of the Vimmarks would plea his case in front of his Lord "If we choose to disregard the Emperors truce with the Red Brothers we are exposed to threats across the Waking Sea and our people will suffer." one of the Alamarian Knights would interject as the Dictator and Viscount would look on "You would see the coasts of Vailor be subject to the raids of Norland, you'd cower from them like chided slaves when the might of Alamar can halt their raids once and for all!" the Adviser would once again interject "You flatter yourselves and your Lord and it is wasted, you don't know what you'd be getting Alamar into."

"We have eyes on us and this is what you'd have them see?" the Knight would argue "Our Knights and Levymen are trained to fight in the Ice and Snow more so than any other force in Vailor. The Norlander cannot match our skill and they dare call themselves Northerners without even living in these lands that we and we alone have tamed." the Knight would finish. The Viscount would rise "My decision is made, we march on Norland, he'd command. Not under the Orenian Banner, but that of Alamar" both his Adviser and Knight bowing their heads knowing their lord had made their decision "The Emperor can have his truce, but we'll have our honour satisfied in full." the Lord of Saltstone would cheer.

Oan does not see any decrees on his visit, nor does he hear the Lord of Saltstone's proclamation. And yet, he knows that something is amiss, from the assembling of materials, the work of the blacksmiths and weaponsmiths at their forges, the extended drilling of the men through the snow. A bit more listening, a little bit of walking amongst the commoners, and the rumors reach his ears. He says quietly to the frigid air, drawing strange looks from the people passing by, "So, there is to be a war, then. The Norlanders should be wary."

"I will not abide the dishonest, pagan, race traitors on that island. It is my duty as a Knight and Lord of the Realm to exterminate them. If you are content with letting these men raid, plunder and pillage settlements that are full of innocence then you have failed humanity. I fight not as Oren but as a human lord." Bryce would state to his neighbor who seems content at letting those who'd betray the human race settle in Vailor

Rendon would smile, reading and re-reading the news of his father's decision in the court of Peremont.  "Finally," he would state softly, placing the missive into the fire.

"It is your duty as a soldier of God and a man of Orenia to obey the wishes of your Emperor." Osgod would retort. "Your lust for violence is treasonous, and will only end in unneeded strife and conflict  amongst men we signed a treaty with in good faith, while mother Oren is engaged in a war with a foreign power."

Richard would not recall any of the Norland raids, only briefly nodding at Bryce,

"I can respect those who would risk this much, for their people."

"Treason for Vimmark is justice. But treason for Horen is treason, and will not be abetted under the house of GOD." states a bystanding Arthur.

As word of the Vimmark's treasonous warmongering reaches him, Duke Richard Staunton slams a clenched fist upon the oaken table, a fury crossing his face which soon subsides into calm resolution. "The raids to which Vimmark refers never happened... First he attempts to usurp me. Now he commits treason. I've had enough."
