Ezo Karasuga 356 Share Posted February 12, 2016 Greetings all, New and Old. For those of you who do not know me. I am VonSchlichten. I've left many marks on LOTC, most of which are subtle and long forgotten. I've been on LOTC on and off since 2011. My playstyle involves bringing others into a unique and immersive RP mix to add that extra depth and FUN to people's game life. With others, we set the bar for high quality Inn/Tavern RP in Aegis. With others ,we (VonSchlichtenCo) were able to create a vast economic empire across multiple worlds. With others, we took engineering from a dwarven lore point to an actual in-game RP tradeskill that required just as much work as magic to become proficient. With others, Gestahl, friendly rival of Sagwort, was able to become a master wizard and sit on a council to rule over an independent isles of Gallmore. The only thing I did alone was create dungeons and RP experiences for them. I spent many hours designing dungeons all without event team powers for players to naturally discover. Players who came across these always were amazed at what they found. It was one of the highlights of my LOTC career making those things. This is all in the past. History is history and sometimes the VonSchlichten name would simply build on itself. That unintentional and non-malicious metagaming tended to break the RP for me. Alone I am just a hermit that can whip up a good story, I need others around to partake. I've changed my MC name from RHcrow to something secret. Dropped the moniker of VonSchlichten and have started brand new. But I also come here asking questions: How has RP improved in the past two years? How has land management improved in the past two years? How has interaction between player governments been streamlined or improved? Is there a demand for dungeon builders ? How has PVP improved? How has PvE improved? How is the current regime (Gms, admins, etc) compared to past ones? What is the "next big thing" everyone is waiting for in LOTC? You probs don't remember me but you were the dude that actually made me stay on the server and taught me how to RP like not a noob in the VonSchlichten Company. And your dungeons inspired me to start planning something similar! I pretty much agree with everything Chump said. Things aren't tooooo different from Anthos. Oren and Dwarves are still killing each other. High Elves are still snooty. Spooks are organizing into a pretty neat culture currently, you might wanna check it out! Well, that's Mandru's nearly middle aged daughter, still around and keeping the VonSchlichten name alive. ;) She believes she's the last one old sport. Probably is. Glad to hear you've started something new; I guess the name has gotten a lot of attention over the years. :/ I like continuing the legacy though, and hope you don't mind my doing so. That aside, I'd say RP's going very well. I currently have two main characters, Rosalyn VonSchlichten and Pandora Langua. One's a doctor and a mental Mage (Guess who xP) and another's an orcish slave. I've been packed with great RP, and though I haven't as much time as I'd like to spend on LotC, I'd say it's defiantly improved from what it used to be. Human RP isn't as good as it used to be, but there's places you can still get some great magical and elvish RP, and Orc RP aint that bad either. Also a (relatively) new nation called the Caliphate that's bolstered some great RP, and there's a successful Mage's Order out and about too. PVP and PVE haven't changed much, unless you count MC mechanics that have changed. With mobs with armor and weapons and all. xP A lot of stuff requires Skype involving governments, but people are fairly competent. Might have to learn how to use the program to talk about OOC things, but you can certainly do most the stuff you want in RP still and forgo the usage of Skype. Large groups usually have a TS of some sort, which I don't use, but there's lots of groups that don't require TS. Military factions mostly use it. xP Staff isn't as good as it used to be either, but hey. They try their best, and they do a fairly good job at handling reqs and the likes. Hit me up in PMs sometime, okay? There's some stuff I'd like to talk to you about, including a small, private RP server I've started with some online friends outside of LotC that I think you'd really, really appreciate, based on the system we used for our old sailing server events. :D You're invited to partake if you wish at any time.
