Lucia Roke held her young child close to her chest, her expression dull and pained as she meekly mutter to herself a simple statement;

"Blood for Ashford."

A furious Thersist clenches his fists, face flushing red as he is overcome by these spectrumatic Savoyard mumblings converging into a great roar of nonsense.

The thick and odious stench of injustice clung to the missive when it arrived at the old count's doorstep, carried to him on the dusky black wings of a carrion bird. When he picked it up and scanned over its contents, an ire boiled up inside him more deep-seated and more malignant than the blackest of all tumors. He snapped shut his fist around the sheet of paper, a single word slipping from his lips like flame from the tongue of a dragon.

Garsto Leaff The Monk would shrug, "Hmmmm." he utters, "If they keep this up, there will be another civil war coming." he mutters, "Perhaps even greater blood to be spilled."

"Blood For Ashford" Garsto's inner savoyard part of his brain would mutter.

Publius frowns deeply from his new home in Al-Wakrah, the scars on his mind from the Duke's War still fresh.

"I hoped to someday return, but now, I do not if I will ever have the chance. God protect us all."

Arthur the Second, of House Amador, Commander of the Honor guard glances around at the horrific scene that lay before him;

the Felsen streets run red with blood, Watchmen corpses loitering the cobble in the dozens. Honor guard can be seen prowling the streets, their once green'n'yellow uniformed splattered red with blood. These cold-blooded killers, murderers, roam about stabbing into each corpse they come across, some of them still alive as they scream out their final roars of pain. Citizens watch in disbelief and horror from the sidelines, but they are not to be harmed in this massacre. A massacre which has blinded the watch.

"Blood for Ashford,"  The Commander giggles out, his face twisted with a perverted smile, a flame of joy burning cold in his eyes.

Eleanore receives news of the events and a solemn look crosses her face. Eyes turning to the clear blue sky beyond the covering of leaves above her, she thinks of her Ashford family, who reside beyond this world in the Seven Skies. Her mother, her uncle, her grandfather. Letting out a soft breath, her eyes turn to the words written at the bottom of the letter.

"Blood for Ashford.she reads aloud in a quiet whisper, her voice barely audible over the hum of the forest around her.

Edward thinks about the events he's heard from the various towns of Lorraine and Kaedrin going about his work. Wondering how this could happen and how the Emperor could just disgrace one of the families that has done so much for the Empire that has stayed surprisingly loyal. He comes to think of the civil war and serving alongside the men of Ashford. "Blood for Ashford..."  He'd whisper to himself on one of his cart rides pulling but a few glances from the citizens riding with him. "...Blood for Ashford."

Bertrand frowns, glancing around at the angry and shouting residents of Peremont. With a sigh and click of his tongue, he closes his tavern door and slides the door bar into place, muttering, "The cycle begins anew."
