Today, it happened: the monk market finally returned!

The event was a booming success! People were all over the place! RP was happening! Friendships were being made! Wares were being sold! People were WINNING things!

I have to say, I am overjoyed to have seen such an event come back to life, and I am so grate to all of the actors that helped me with this evening. I couldn't have done it without your commitment and imagination.

Now that that's said, let's see the information we were actually waiting for:

  • The market made over 22,000 minas tonight. 14,000 of it went to the GM fund, and 8,000 is being dished between all of the wonderful actors that were generous enough to give one or two hours of their time.
  • The market lasted for over three hours. Wow.
  • At the peak of the event, 93 people were all gathered at the marketplace, merrily roleplaying and trying to pull that damn sword from the stone. Keep in mind, this was almost at the two hour mark.

Ultimately, this was checked off as a success in my book - it was everything I could have asked for in this revival.

However . . .

What could have gone better? I know there's always room for improvement, especially with huge things like these which invite the entire server to participate.

What activities or stalls (RP items) would you like to see being offered next time? What activities/stalls would you like to see again at the market in the future? Should it be held on a different day/time when it recurs?

Additionally, there is a poll attached above, just to ask some questions you've already answered, in case your opinion has changed since I asked last.

Please, please, please, leave me boatloads of feedback and opinions - it really will make a difference when we return.

I know I did an amazing job, hehe.

Anyway, the monk market was a HUGE success. Lots of people were there and from everyone I spoke to, they had an a wonderful time. I didn't personally see any flaws in the way it went and was run, wonderful job Leslie, you really outdid yourself.

Yeah honestly I haven't seen a good market event like this since our last Monk Market in Anthos. This was a great market and honestly leslie did great coordinating the whole thing and quite well. The Elder Monks had no issues and we all loved this market, even those who were not there. I hope we get to have you on the next one! And the one after that! ..... etc forever. Great event, just what the server needed to feel alive again.

I think the sword could've been handled better, Org may have cut in line but that should've been dealt with in RP not by refusing to give him his rightful prize, his ban report was over the top but he won it fair and square. It was an argument that should not have taken place, deal with RP issues like line cutters in RP not by cheating him out of the item.

Well if he won by cheating it was not a fair win, he didn't deserve to win the item because it was not fairly won. He should have played fair and used that lucky roll when it was his turn to do so. Sorry but he definitely did not deserve the sword because of that.

It was cheating in RP not cheating in OOC

Either way, it makes it not fun for everyone else and the whole point of these events is for things to be fair, organized and fun. And if a cheater won, it would discourage people to not only play fair but to enter the events at all, all that is not worth a silly in-game item, as it ruins the fun for everyone else but the guy that won. Also, can't push in line temple restricts it :)

just like cheaters irl, man oh jee golly jee wow. rp is rp, if org won it cheating, something should have been done about it in rp. i've seen plenty of line cutters just 'slip in', no pushing involved. i've done it myself at school lunch lines lol.

i didn't go to the event but it was probably fun. nice job event team.

There needs to be a bigger area, spread things out. I went to the market for a whole five minutes then left because of how badly chat was being spammed. Especially by rolls.

I address this concern thoroughly in the ban report he made. Keep in mind that his RP and attitude to the  ET staff was extremely poor after he spammed rolled. Despite him getting the number he did not do the RP to get the sword and thusly he was not rewarded in RP. You can read over my response here for more info! If you still have concerns please PM me and we can speak there.

Okay so in general it was really good but there could definitely be some improvements.

Like someone said before, it needs to be spread out (Which is why I think it should travel). There was so much chat spam, even /q wouldn't help because you were so close to everyone. Also, definitely more GM moderation, there was lots of behavior that wasn't very necessary. Examples are the people spamming /roll 1000, Org complaining about his sword, and the sword in the stone line (People said I cut in line once but my halfling pal was actually holding my spot :c ). I also didn't like how you have to buy vouchers for pretty much EVERYTHING. I understand if you want to buy goods you have to get vouchers, but from what I heard if you want to play a game you have to get its voucher. That's just not fun IMO, and is really a waste of minas.

Also ya'll need to fix your Shogging Arena. The Logs were too close, you make 3 blocks inbetween so you can't get hit off the minute the game starts. And you also need pumpkins and wooden shovels/shogs......... I was not pleased by this Shogging Experience at all, you should host the M.M in Willow Hollow to see how real shogging is done >:) .

EDIT: What's 'The GM fund'? You said how you gave minas to them, but for what? Just curious.
