Elsillumiran – The Weeping Blades

“We wear masks so that we may hide our shame.

Beneath the gold of our crafted faces, our tears well and fall like rain in summer.

There is no pride in our hearts.

There is no joy in ending life.

There is no righteousness in the blade, and the bow.

Our sacrifice is for our people, our city, and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya.”

Dear Single Sillumir,

The Sillumir is formally disbanded. Its member (note the singular form of that word) is to find new employment in Haelun'or.

If in the future if someone seeks to restore this order, and has 6 elves to pledge actively to the duty, this will be re-evaluated.

Dear Citizenry,

Feel free to ignore the above message— this changes nothing given we had no Sillumir anyway.

— Tillruir'tir

Andri'ante laughs out-loud upon hearing the news. The Mali'aheral would offer an evidently amused guffaw, strange to  the usually rather detached figure. She would continue laughing for the time being, words spoken amidst laughter she was unable to muffle.

Her laughter gradually fall short for a moment, as she blinks rapidly. "...Wait we have a Tilruir'tir?"

Vitur blinks twice, "I thought it was already disbanded."

Armed elves of the order Sirame reach Haelun'ors shores, nailing this edict to the pillars and columns of the silver city's marble walls.

"By law of the Dominion of Malin, only the rightfully appointed King of all three member-states may disband, or form any organization of an armed and military nature. The edict of disbandment of the Sillumir is hereby declared null and void.

The Sohaer of Haelun'or and acting Dominon chancellor Kelthran Ilwindor is requested to make an audience before the King Tresery at his earliest convenience to discuss the revitalization of Haelun'or's state-sanctioned military and the presence of un-approved paramilitary organizations making their base within his city."

Signed;

The Ruling Council of Malin and King of the Elves

"Why not a singular military, with three sects for each city-state?" asks the ex-officer, current druid Toren of the seed Camoryn.

A letter is sent to the Ruling Council, and posted in Haelun'or.

Beyond Your Scope, Your Majesty

I found your edict sent to our cihi today and was quite displeased with what I had read. Although my duty on our council is no longer to lead, I am to act as the preserver of our tradition. This is why this notice drew my attention at all, as Elsillumiran are in tradition the guardians of our blessed cihi and all within it. To disband them as they were founded would be an act akin to book burning - though I can not hold Elfitilurir'tir to this level as he has done what is right. What now wears the colours of silver and red is not what it once was - they do not guard our people, as they do nothing, for they are non-existent. All that is happening is putting what has already occurred on paper - signing the death certificate of an already-deceased. Beating a dead horse will get you nowhere. The next step is reform - and this is only what I imagine our councilor will do - though you can grow little in the dead carcass of a dead guard force. This is why I ask you to stay out of matters where you have no business, and allow our state to fix our guard ourselves.

You do argue that it is your business, yet the authority that has been cited in your edict is non-existent. In no treaty or passed law is this power granted to you, Your Majesty. I will however cite a provision which is stated in our treaty, granting the opposite:

Quote

The Sovereign Government of the Dominion will recognize each signatory’s right to govern their own domestic affairs. These include but are not limited to; taxation, citizenship, trade, judiciaries, and domestic law so long as it does not contradict the Dominion’s law.

Elsillumiran are no military - they never were - and even if they had been, they are non-existent presently. When you call us to arms to fight for you no men in silver and red uniforms appear, only citizens who volunteer to take up the call to arms. Our state has the full authority to preside over our own domestic affairs - and our guard-force, not military, is one of them. To infringe on this right is to step beyond your bounds, and I would rather stay in good relations your silver citizenry. I do give the conjecture that even if they were a military, you would still lack authority over formation and disbanding. Further, the claim of para-military organizations is also uncalled for. Even if they did exist, it is still beyond your scope of power to dictate how we handle them.

Thus I advise you to quit beating the dead horse, allow us to mend our own guard-force, cease citing false laws and perhaps read the existent ones. Do not muddle in affairs of which you have no business. Do not make this non-issue a problem.

I advise our citizenry and council to refute this edict for these reasons, and proceed following the word of our Tilurir'tir.

maehr'sae hiylun'ehya,

A letter is promptly sent back to Artimec, bound in the seal of the Sohaer and The Silver Council.

"I believe the Maheral has already handled the delicate matter presented to me. Additionally, my name is Kelthran Iyathir; not Ilwindior. I understand that reading is not the easiest for Mali'ame, but just because they both start with the letter I does not make them the same word. Additionally, I would like to hear from the king directly on this matter, and not be micromanaged by another councilor. A meeting may be arranged personally with me, otherwise I ask that you cease your postings upon my public forums and allow me to rule my own state."

-Kelthran Iyathir, Sohaer of Haelun'or
