The City of Felsen once again finds itself suffering from a vacancy in the Mayoral seat before the end of the term. The dastardly deeds of the rebel and traitor Markese de Rolle, have thrown the city into disarray. However, as the coming days return the city to normalcy, we must not forget ourselves. We must have a Mayor.

 

If you wish to be nominated for the position of Mayor, please deliver a copy of your with your reasoning for desiring the office, and any plans or ideas you wish to implement. Include anything else you believe pertinent to the election. In approximately two Saint's Days, or when nominees stop sending in their speeches, the voting will begin. Erren rises atop the dais, he looks upon a city that has clearly played host to a battle of epic proportions. His scars from his participation clearly evident, even from the farthest of spectators

"Fellow residents, as we stand 'ere, we find ourselves in a dark moment, one where our Commandant committed acts of treason, 'n where we lost our own good mayor, Karl."

He would take a moment to look around the crowd, catching glimpses of Gold Corp and Nauzica, as well as members of the church.

"In times such as this, mankind looks to each other to 'elp us get back on our feet. In times like this, we need unity, one identity, under GOD, and our Empire. We must strive to forgive, and pledge our lives to a greater cause."

Erren would scan the crowd once more.

"Many of you might know me from my time serving in the Felsen Guard, running Crawley's General Goods, or 'elping you find a 'ome, wotever the case, upon my election, I give you four promises." 

"Firstly, I will continue the late mayors work on bringing public 'ousing so those on the streets can live with the basic rights tha' we all take fer granted."

"Secondleh, I will strive to make meaningful changes in the council, to bettah the commonfolk 'aving an audience with it. It's yer city, so yeh deserve to 'ave yer voices 'eard."

"Thirdly, I will make sure tha' all soldiers 'ho serve the empire work together to protect our Capital, while maintaining the autonomy they all deserve."

"'n finally, I will create jobs fer anyone tha' wants one. I'll do this by increasin' incentives fer business owners to settle and 'ire locals. I'll also open a ware'ouse just outside the gates to be manned by felsenites. The ware'ouse will buy all yer livestock 'n wot ever yeh may want to part with. This allow's yeh to pursue wotever business, 'n 'elp your citeh 'n Empire!"

Erren would take a final bow at the conclusion, and step down, allowing another candidate to give their speech.

Zaza takes a deep breath, looking around at the gathered crowd

 

“Citizens of Felsen, these last few days have been dark and will forever live on in the history books. Now, the history books can say that after the tragic coup and death of Mayor Karl that Felsen fell into a fractured city, covered in misery. But, I don’t want to read that story, I want to read about how this city stood tall. How after this dark day we stood tall and fought off the darkness that the traitor Markese de Rolle brought on this city. I will read of how after this dark day Felsen entered its greatest period yet, where the city stood together and destroyed the darkness that took root in the city!"

 

Zaza looks around, eyeing everyone in the crowd

Upon hearing Zaza's speech, Erren once again rises atop.

Charles Philip Horen stands by himself in a corner speaking

 

"We are losing, Felsen. For too long have we lost. Our previous mayor, he's done an awful job, an awful job. He doesn't know what he is doing. My opponents, if there are any, are low energy. So low energy, they look like they are asleep. Do we want that for mayor of Felsen? No we do not want that. Now, me, I am a winner, I know how to win. Trust me on this folks, I know how to win. That's all I've done my entire life, is win. 

 

When I was a young kid, you know what happened? My father gave me a small loan of land, basically an entire viscounty and 5000 minas. A small loan, guys. Now, now I am rich and I still own that land and more! I worked hard and I won and I will do the same for you, the hard working Felsenites of the middle and lower class. I am great at it. The best. No one is better. My opponent, they are endorsed by the nobility, they take bribes from the rich merchants who support their interests! When I am mayor I will look after the little guy. Small businesses will boom! They will be huge! We will be rich again, folks.

 

The dwarves, they've been coming over here. The elves, they have been coming over here, illegally. Illegally, folks. They take our jobs, they take our homes, they take our money. And nothing is done about it! I'll tell you what I will do if I am elected mayor of Felsen! I will build another wall around Felsen. One even larger than the one we have now that will keep the criminal dwarves and elves out of our land. In that wall will be a huge, shining door that will be open to everyone that wants to come here legally, legally folks. Because I love legal immigrants.

 

We need to bring mercantile back to Felsen, folks. We've allowed these other peoples to come in and take away our labor, take away our jobs, take away our businesses. They move out of Felsen because it is cheaper folks! These big businesses and lords all bought my opponent with their millions of minas! We need to stop this. No more unfair trade and merchanting to those outside of Felsen. I will make sure we have fair trade, folks. fair trade. We will negotiate, because let me tell you, I am a great negotiator, I have negotiated so many fantastic deals, I am a great negotiator, and we will negotiate fair deals, folks. Fair trade.

 

We will make Felsen rich again.
