PSA: Do not Unsoulbind your items

Kind of short post, but I was doing some event building that required creative, and just to be safe I un-soulbinded a gold helmet RP item and a gold sword RP item that I had, to put them in a chest. Upon finishing the event and trying to re-soulbind them, I was given the prompt "you can't soulbind those items." So I'm assuming that this is either a bug or a change that I didn't see the patch notes for. (Should I make a bug report? Does anyone know if this is intentional or not?) A friend of mine on TS at the time said their item, which was a similar gold RP sword, was not un-soulbinded. So be sure to not unsoulbind them for any reason if you want to keep your items soulbound! Unfortunate I learned this the hard way and now cannot re-soulbind my items. :<

You can't soulbind armor and weapons no matter the make

Ah, that really sucks. I thought gold was the "This is for purely RP" why'd they change it? Because of spectres or? My problem is it seems slightly unfair to whoever accidentally un-soulbinds theirs, considering it doesn't un-soulbind anything soulbound prior to the change.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be able to soulbind all gold, stone and wooden items actually, I've done it in the past.

My item is gold and mod approved and it was telling me I couldn't. I'll try again later tonight, might've been a temporary bug?

Edit. Yep. Still can't be soulbound.

It must be a bug then, I think the best you can hope for is to wait for a developer to respond to the post with some clarification or a fix, good luck man! :)

The stipulation in the EULA is that weapons & armor that are usable cannot be soulbindable. Which means at this moment, it would be illegal for us to allow players to soulbind them.

I will be making some changes to soulbinding to change this around.

Ah ok, thanks for the clarification! So it'd have to be something like, if soulbound, can't be equipped or used in pvp?

WHAT?

How is this illegal? What reason could someone have to make players on a minecraft RP server unable to soulbind items.

The EULA. It's a donation perk that TECHNICALLY gives someone an advantage- a weapon they cant loose. Even if its a shitty weapon. Perhaps have weapons like this do negative damage? For instance, I have a sword that literally doesnt hurt someone, nor knocks them back or gives them the red thing. Also doesnt loose durability, because.. negative 5 damage.

I will never understand the EULA. A free to play game is one thing, but not allowing servers to monetize their server is just...

I don't get it.

I mean unless they really are considering making MC have play to win mechanics.
