thaddeus11 75 Share Posted August 17, 2016 So um.... Is there ever going to be a chance to get the magic lore switched around and 'fixed' so it would work with a magic plug-in? Magic plug-in?

LatzMomo 2088 Share Posted August 17, 2016 Remove II enchants, but don't change the glyphs, after I test out the new weapons, I'll let you know about them.
EPICBEAST6209 130 Share Posted August 17, 2016 This is actually really exciting! Glad to see that the server is taking a step in the right direction by moving away from nexus. And I'm sure for those that are concerned about the 1.8 and 1.9 combo combat it'll probably end up being as simple as such: 1.8 weapons such as daggers, short swords, ect. will probably only be able to do as much damage in the time that it takes one of the 1.9 weapons with swing timers to get a strike in. Those who are capable of keeping their cursor on a target long enough to get a large strike in from a warhammer or axe equivalent to several strikes from a dagger or short sword so that everyone get's what they want and there is no advantage but choice of preference. Dohvi 622 Share Posted August 17, 2016 I'm going to be uncharacteristicly blunt here for a moment, sorry. Changing enchanting glyphs is absolute bullshit. Don't do it. No other profession gets a periodic screwover like that where everyone suddenly 'forgets' what they're doing and needs to relearn all the recipes. The fact 2 professions are operating on recipes when none of the others are is aready a questionable decision. Taking that a step further and resetting those recipes every so often isn't cool.

Malgonious 2758 Share Posted August 17, 2016 Just now, DPM said: Those who prefer the 1.9 style of pvp are going to be seriously handicapped against those who prefer the 1.8 style of pvp. Fighting in 1.9 is skilless and random due to skewered hitboxes, buggy cooldowns and general terrible hit detection. The reason why everyone was so in favour to 1.8's style of pvp was due to the skill required to use it. If you wanted to be good you needed to have, good aim, good strafing and good interpretation. These three reasons is why anyone who uses a 1.9 weapon will be forced to ugrade to a 1.8 weapon. Why is that? Well this is because a player with a shortsword could easily out aim, out strafe and 'combo' the player with an axe solely because the 1.9 fighting style is trash. 1.9 PvP Pros - Better damage Cons - Can be easily strafed - Can be easily combo'd - Can be out maneuvered If the development team is serious about giving this new system a trial then they have to consider many things, one of these being the completely ridiculous hitboxes that mojang implemented. The new hitboxes provide invulnerability after each hit, which does not make sense. It completely handicaps both 1.9 and 1.9 style of pvp. I would see no reason to keep this personally, if you hit someone in 1.9 and they have invulnerability then you have to regain your cooldown and you havent done damage. There is something else that I would like the staff team to consider however, there are many servers that allow you to join their server on 1.8, 1.8 and 1.10. Why can we not settle for this? We do we need to implement some crazed and weird combat system when we can make it so people who want 1.8 can join on 1.8 and people who want 1.9 can join on 1.9. It just seems a little silly that we are handicapping ourselves and taking a backwards route. Just my own personal thoughts. P.S Dungeon Realms has been hacked and is no longer up and is only used as an example. Not trying to advertise the server in anyway. banned for advertisement of other servers. We aim to find a suitable compromise that works for all players, which is to add a new variety of weaponry with significantly reduced swing-timers which would be essentially akin to 1.8 PvP. i suggested this MONTHS ago............................. Stag 3231 Share Posted August 17, 2016 If people are kin to combat bonuses why don't you make them sigils? You get 1 combat sigil?
Chaw 964 Share Posted August 17, 2016 The weapons look ok, but I would prefer hit timers removed... I guess this is a step in the right direction. A real poll after the trial phase would be great too.

Yeah I was waiting for that comment. Please for the love of Wyrvun don't do it, last time it just turned into probably one of the worst mechanical circlejerks to the point where poor Shamejax cracked when someone offered to give out a protection glyph for money and just sent the spreadsheet on the forums.
