""We are born by the Dark;
Made Men by the Dark;
Undone by the Dark;

We fear the Old Dark."
- The Adage of the Old Lords

Basic Information

Richard Reimarch is a graven, warrior, and follower of the way of Xion. He is currently on a pilgrimage through Axios. Richard plans on his pilgrimage consisting of

assisting the mortal kind, spreading the words of the Old Lords, and destroying any worship or reverence of beings or things that defy Xionism.

As a graven, he does this not out of choice, but out of his spirit literally being binded to his knightly duties that he had in life.

This is the story, of Richard.

Personality and Goals

Richard is generally prone to morbid, dark, and hateful dispositions. This is mainly due to his eternal task of keeping the fire of Xionism burning, which is how he satisfies his spirit's need for performing

knightly duties, and also finding personal meaning in the ideology. He is generally morbid and hateful because he is deprived of his mortality and rest. Sure undeath is revered in Xionist scripture, but he is not the lucky type of undead. He is a slave to his task, obsessively performing it over and over again. He may as well be a ghoul, except of mystical origin. He may be slain, but he will merely regenerate once more to finish his task, which may never be fulfilled. That being said, he wishes one of two things.

One, to truly transcend and retire from his duties of an Xionist Knight. He may do such through becoming a Paleknight or a Wraith. Those are the two things he can really transcend into. Two, he wishes to die. He wishes to pass into the afterlife, whatever it might be. To him, anything is better than the curse he must endure. There is a good chance neither of these things will happen, and this Xionist Knight will forever fight for his beliefs.

There is another side to Richard's personality. Xionism has also brought him meaning. Without it he most likely would have lost his sanity. With it he can admire and look up to the Old Lords, crack open the Good Book and further immerse himself in it's lore, and so forth. Xionism to him is true wisdom, true meaning for someone in his position. He wishes to one day meet a Lord and immerse himself in their wisdom.

Inventory

Richard, being a Graven, does not require substance. That being said medicine, furs, food, or really anything of that matter is out of the question.

He does possess a few items on him. Firstly, is a rather revealing illustration of Karina Gotthold. She was one of the knights he knew in life while he was a squire in the Order of Saint Wilfriche. He found her quite alluring, so he drew the picture of her in his pass-time, no one knowing of it's existence to this day. Today he occasionally looks at it, giving himself a tiny sliver of pleasure, to remind him of his previous life as a squire.

As for belongings of a more personal nature, that is really all it consists of.  As for combat, he possesses a very specific arsenal that suits his style.

That is what he mainly carries with him on his journey, aside from things he acquired from opportunity on the road.

Life Style

Now that you know what Richard carries around, and also what he acts like, you're probably wondering how it overall determines his life style?

Richard is constantly on the move, he never stays at one dwelling/settlement for too long before moving away in fear of discovery. When he is staying at a particular place, he seeks out a quest, and acts upon it. This is really all he does, unless of course he is paying respects to the Old Lords during their holidays. He usually does such by himself as he cannot find many other Xionists. And such is the life of him, constantly alone.

As for a religion, you probably guessed it. He's a follower of Xionism. He does not pick a particular lord to devote himself to, instead thinking that each Lord holds their own wisdom. The Dark Lord's interests in magical research and overall finding a way to bind the world in darkness so that Man can forever thrive is a wisdom to Richard, alongside with all mortals becoming Transcendants. He also finds the striving for a total annihilation of the gods is a wisdom. Though he does not approve of The Dark Lord's interests in the Old Dark, that of which is the void and the horrors that lie within. As for the Oaks, Richard likes the idea of all races molding together, surpassing The Fallen One's curses and not being known as Human, Orc, Dwarf, and Elf. No, instead they would simply be known as Man, unified. And for the Nameless Lord, this Xionist Graven thinks that the idea of honor, glory, and battle is a noble one. Though he thinks that the ideology gets a bit too carried away to the point of supporting forever chaos in the realm.

As Richard's personality suggests, he does not want friends nor need them. The only exceptions to this is if the person can prove their worth in his quest or is a fellow undead. Though he has taught himself how to act 'normal' in the presence of mortals, meaning he can thrive easier.

Life Story

Richard Reimarch was born when the people moved to Axios, he was merely in his mother womb at the time. The father died defending the ship that was carrying the orenians through the Spirit Realm. When they arrived in Johannesburg. The mother, caught in grief and weak of will, sold her husband's items, scavenged all her money, and simply left the child to die. Richard, however, was strong of will, and managed to survive. He did trivial tasks for his childhood to earn coin, When he was of age, 13 to be specific, he joined the Order of Saint Wilfriche as a squire. There he was taught the ways of combat by some of the greatest knights of that time. This included Karina Gotthold, whom he later grew a childhood interest in yet never acted upon it before his early demise, and also the legendary Carrot Knight, Alexander 'The Savage'. He did quite well in the order, he knew how to take orders, one time even punching a noble child in the face because Carrot Knight told him to do it.

This happiness would not last long, Richard eventually fell to Avos the lich. Due to the trauma, corrupted, and overall unnatural way of dying, he became a Graven. His task? To fulfill his duties as a knight. He wandered the vast wilderness, fueled by nothing but his duty. He did such until he heard of the Redshrouds, a group of Xionist undead devoted to ideologies and duties that aligned to Richard's task. He served well in the Redshrouds just as he did in the Order of Saint Wilfriche. He constantly followed orders and developed a bond with his fellow Redshrouds. One time he even fought giant tortoises with his Siblings-In-Arms, with the assistance of some mortals. '

Though the order became inactive, falling to ruin. Richard knew that if he did not fulfill his goal on a regular basis, he would be nothing but a withering husk of himself. This is what inspired him to go on Pilgrimage through Axios, assisting the mortal kind out of pleasure and a constant need to fulfill his duty.

Great so now anyone can call themselves a knight

He's a self proclaimed knight at the very least. He calls himself a knight of Xionism, not that he has anything do with nobility or oren.
