This will give us opportunity to more thoroughly test our own code. Update: Release date has been pushed back to Saturday, December 3rd due to a few third party plugins not yet updated, and many only have released development builds (unstable). Further, a few our our internal plugins need more work. Hey Lord of the Craft, I know you're all excited to play the new Minecraft update, 1.11. Well, the Development Team is excited too! Llamas!!! However as per usual we won't be able to move onto 1.11 right away - there are external factors out of our control, and a lot of our own code to go through. However we are going to try to make this our one of our quickest updates to date. The Minecraft development community has really gotten good at updates in recent times, so that allows us to be on the ball. Like 1.10 this is a relatively small update, so hopefully it will be easy for us to work through. Items in blue are the most important information. Items in orange are where we could use your help! Here is the plan: Monday 14th Mojang releases Minecraft 1.11. Tuesday 15th The Spigot team releases draft 1.11 Bukkit API. Development Team creates project branches for 1.11 and sets up our plugins for updating. Wednesday 16th The Spigot team releases the 1.11 Spigot Server (early). Development Team updates our code to the 1.11 API throughout the next two weeks. Saturday 19th Development builds for PaperSpigot have been released for 1.11. I have spoken with the developer and his has stated they are stable. Sunday 20th Development Team updates our development server to 1.11 with draft plugin builds. Friday 2nd Development Team begins running tests on our plugins to assure they are meeting our standards. Community members are encouraged to reach out to us if they want to help. Send me a PM! Thursday 8th Testing concludes and the server is prepared for maintenance. Friday 9th Server maintenance begins at 4:00 am GMT (11:00 pm EST Thursday). Expected downtime is anywhere from 3-12 hours. Confirmed release date for Lord of the Craft 1.11. New Content: Your View: Please, comment in the thread how you think we should implement the new content. Aside from Minecraft content, also expect a few plugin releases :) Possible delays: This is all subject to a perfect timeline. There are three major factors that could delay this: One of them is PaperSigot, the server software we use which greatly improves performance. Although they usually release soon after the Spigot team, they have not confirmed a release date. The second major factor is third party plugins such as WorldGuard. We have no idea when these plugins will update, though we suspect the major ones to update by our tentative release date. Some of these plugins will work on 1.11 with their 1.10 versions, so if we can get manage that we will, though there are several key plugins which could delay this timeline. Update: Many third party plugins have been released, and all others have development builds, though we are still waiting for some to sort out bugs. The final factor is on the Development Team ourselves. We have a lot of code to go through and although we will try our best to get this update out as soon as possible, things can always come up. Update: Our code is updated, though still needs testing/debugging. This is the final timeline. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment on this thread. I'll announce that beforehand, however. countless sweaty minemen cry as they cant play minegame on client 1.8 yeah i didn't expect it to be finished quite yet, due to the nature of just how big that update would be. any rough ETA on it? like, 10% done, 50%, needs some testing? Should be done for Christmas, hopefully. I finish exams on the 15th so I'll have some time to wrap stuff up with that project. After this update I won't have much free time until then.
