The Thunder Clads Deep within the mountains of Urugan in the grand city of the dwarves rests the most powerful kingdom the world has ever known. At the head of this kingdom sits the great king a figure of all that a dwarf should aspire to become brooding upon grudges and contemplating wars. The legion patrols the surface world fighting what wars need to be fought and what victories need to be won against Urugans enemies those who dare attack us feel their wraith in combat. But it is deep below the crust of the earth in the dark caves and fungus covered wastes of what was once ancient dwarven cities lies a foul creature. Left alone for centuries healing their wounds from our ancestors great smiting of them.... they sit waiting for when we were caught up with wars and politics and bickering amongst one another to strike. From out of the holes and caves of the deep come the goblins. THE UNDERGROUND STRUGGLE OF DWARF AGAINST GOBLIN AND MONSTER Slowly they amassed themselves from the caves from the walls they came flying into battle on dwarven miners on the folk of Urugan. Trolls and other creatures captured by the goblins are thrown into dwarven lines as the miners retreat the thunderclad warriors would come forward. Wielding the most powerful weapons of their kin they yelled battle formations in the dark as torches blew out from the advancing goblins. They had come the most ancient of enemies for the dwarves goblins and their foul underground kin that dared to strike a hand at their betters. With axes in hand and shields locked together, the dwarves embraced the oncoming tide of green and behemoths that shook the very foundations of the cave bringing lesser creatures to their knees but these were dwarves. Trained in the way of tunnel fighting with no fear of darkness and no fear of the grobbi. As the cave grew dark it would be illuminated briefly by shocks of lighting from rune weapons and the screams of dying goblins. Other monsters could be heard to trolls trying to escape the confines of their goblin overlord would rather turn and fight each other than face the thunderclads. The most elites of this order are clad head to toe in rune armor to allow them to lead their brothers in suicide attacks or powerful frontline charges to route the enemy. These warriors are known as the Thunderguards each thunderguard has proved himself one way or the other in the heat of battle enough to earn him the right to wield the powerful weapons of the runesmiths. The Death guard is just as respected as the thunderguards as were the thunder guard would fight against large monsters and heavy enemy captains. The Death guard holds the line killing the most enemies that dare come before their faces cutting swaths through goblin armies like lambs to the slaughter. Both are equally famed both serve different purposes be it the death guards ability to single-handedly kill off 100 goblins alone or the thunderguards ability to slay giants without the need for backup. All of the warriors in the thunderclad army first must prove themselves being able to navigate underground tunnels and pick the best directions to go while also honing their skills in tunnel fighting. The Tunnel lord will make sure each soldier is assigned to the job that fits him best based on skill and other factors including what the dwarf in question would like to pursue. Each solider will learn to survive on his own cut off from help, he will learn to use every weapon even rocks if need be to kill,He will learn to survive with little food and no light, He will become the ultimate underground killing machine.
