Hark, humanity! Johannesburg lay in ruin; there has been a paradigm shift on the world stage.

For so long the Holy Orenian Emperor has ruled over most of Axios and various realms prior, and has ipso facto been the most powerful man in the world. From the citadels of the mali’aheral to the swamps of Savoy, the princes of the realm paid tribute to he alone. Indeed his Empire was vast and unyielding, destroying any who dare provoke his ire. The dragons of House Horen ruled over mankind and her lesser cousins with an iron fist.

Their right to rule was derivative of the prophet. Exalted Godfrey of House Horen first united Renatus, Seventis, Salvus, and Hanseti under the Empire. And all emperors since, in one way or another, claimed descendance from he, or from the later Exalted Sigismund of House Carrion. It was this ancient claim that gave the imperial royalty their right to rule. This and their armies, of course. And yet... Now their claims are meaningless. What comes next?

The people will rally before the strong. Just as Exalted Godfrey earned the love of his people, and as Peter Chivay rallied before him armies that would make any foe tremble in fear, the Peters, Godfreys, and Sigismunds of today will forge their realms. It is not ancient claims of royalty which doth greatness imbue; it is virtue alone that will crown the kings of today.

So let us look not to those scepters of silver and crowns of emerald, but rather to those hearts more gold than a coin and those minds more sharp than the finest sword. The strong will lead mankind into this age of unease and uncertainty. Shrug off the chains of oppressors and the weak; snap them just as the chains of the Empire were snapped, clean and quick. You alone decide who to bow before; you decide who deserves such graces.

Rally before the bold and the bright, not the inept and indecisive.

Signed,

Sylvestre Adelheid of House Halcourt ✝

"The strong will push out the weak should they want to rule, Ser." Lord Rhys chuckles to his loyal companion Lucien, lighting his pipe.

"Certainly. This essay is about who should rule in lieu of an imperial tyrant."

"Any who seek to rule and unify Mankind consequently and always do, reform the Orenian title, thus sending Humanity into a spiral of a superiority complex, which is what their downfall was in recent history. Hubris is the bane of a ruler."

"Lets face it, it's going to come back eventually whether you like it or not." another man responds

"I dont recall him trying to do, a, "Reform the Orenian Title", b, "Having a superiority complex", or c, "Having hubris". Your call out game is weak, and you should feel disappointed and ashamed."

""Let's do it!" they all yelled in unison, on the first day, "Let's rethink this" they thought on the second day, and on the third day, "Let's depose him!". The Northerners balked and showed their true colors, betraying their King as they worried more about their holdings and land. Scared that they would experience the same result of the Dukes War. As far as I know, the King attempted his best for his people, but was ultimately in the end, betrayed by cowards and those he trusted."

"And I'm just an Elf, the hell you going off about?"

Sunder wonders how many of the Human Kingdoms have this button at their disposal. Then again he expects that Oren might not be reformed any time soon.
