Drafted by his Majesty, King Leopold Francis I, King of the Westerlands and Sixth Reigning Vandalore.

TO ALL DENIZENS OF AXIOS,

As the conflict between Haense and Courland escalates, so must the precautionary measures of free men. This pact is formed to ensure that self-determination is maintained throughout the human realm and to ensure that no Empire is reformed with armed conflict. It is proper and just that independent states be treated with respect and with proper conduct, especially in regards to their own sovereignty.

Thus, in accordance with precaution, it is necessary to prepare for a potential victor in the coming conflict. It is highly speculated that both factions would seek to reform some form of Empire, and the signatories within this pact thusly proclaim that we cannot be so easily deceived. Both Haense and Courland deny such actions, yet both attempt to politicize faith to bring forth unity for the coming conflict. This is merely one example of such deceptions, and it remains in the best interest of these signatories, and future signatories, that we remain vigilant and stalwart.

The Terms of the Self-Determinist Pact:

☩ Signatories of the Self-Determinist Pact shall pledge to defend one another against all forms of aggressive Imperial action, be it through proxy or physical means.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Determinist Pact shall not advocate nor participate in any outright offensive measures against fellow humans unless provoked. This is akin to the Non-Aggression principle.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact shall pledge to defend one another against all forms of non-human intervention in civil human conflicts and against non-human aggression.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact shall pledge to remain neutral in all martial affairs unless directly involved via provocation or through a violation of the previous three terms.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact shall promote the philosophy of self-determination globally and not promote Imperial conquest, formation or expansion in any way.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact shall not promote, nor recognize rebellions in another nation unless the rebels of said nation were clearly and unarguably wronged (I.E. Savoy with the Imperium Quintus) as, more so than not, rebels tend to act out of self-interest rather than to be righteous which, in turn, is counter productive to self-determination as it promotes the theft of land.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact shall agree that to include a future member into said pact, a unanimous agreement amongst signatories must be achieved.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact shall recognize that if their state breaks any terms in said pact, then in turn they have become a threat to said pact. To break a term, or multiple terms, a signatory shall receive suspension from the Self-Deterministic pact until the other signatories either pardon, or permanently expel said signatory.

☩ Signatories of the Self-Deterministic Pact must recognize clause five in regards to their admittance into the pact. There shall be no consequence should a signatory decide to leave said pact bar the removal of benefits.

Aylwin Blaxton, a former diplomat to Lotharingia and current soldier of Hanseti-Ruska, looks over the pact and its terms.

A small smile lines his lips as he silently says:

"It is good to know that H.R.H King Philip avails himself of such prudent measures with the Westerlands. In time, after the blood has been spilt over, we may all see the appeal of the treaty table... To bring the dawn of a new, more peaceful, Tahn in our time."

With that said, Aylwin returns to his work.
