MamaBearJade 2090 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Its been a few years since I did any major workouts. With a knee surgery back in June last year, I have been wanting to get back into working out and mostly have been looking towards Yoga and Pilattes. I am wondering what exercises, if any of you have any suggestions, I should do. Keep in mind I have asthma, a knee problem, and occasionally some equilibrium issues. I recently joined a gym and wanted to get in some good ideas for exercises. Classes I intend to take -Pilattes -Yoga -Kickboxing -Swimming Any suggestions? Aphromo 12 Share Posted March 25, 2017 What is your aim? Are you looking for strength, physique, or to just be 'healthy'. (I have been lifting for nearly 3 years)

MangoArt 399 Share Posted March 25, 2017 I have a very strange way of keeping fit that I don't reccomend: Run in circles when your bored and leave your house to walk aimlessly for hours.
Aphromo 12 Share Posted March 25, 2017 if you are looking to be healthy then I dont know what to tell you, run a lot? I mainly do heavy weights and aim for new rep maxes every week. I guess in your position my workouts would not work for you.
Thatpyrodude 2008 Share Posted March 25, 2017 If you're looking to lose weight your kitchen hours are much more important than your gym hours. What I mean is no matter how hard you go in the gym, it'll be useless if you eat a few big macs after. Everyone is different but the biggest hurdle in weight loss is your mind. If you can get it in your mind how to eat and what is okay you'll be grinding down pounds.
KetchenX 180 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Cardio and healthy eating to lose weight.Broccoli and Kale everyday. Running is the best exercise, sprinting if you can handle it.

Body weight exercises will also help a lot with injury and you can ease into it all the same, but in general a casual walk/jog/run can help build up strength. All that for rehabilitation on your knee but pretty much the same **** everyone else said, swimming is great but make sure your diet is right most of all. Treshure 5818 Share Posted March 25, 2017 Get your diet under control before anything. Track your macros and make weight goals for yourself. When that is taken control of, visit https://stronglifts.com/5x5/. Its a beginner weight training program and it can get you in fantastic shape. If your knee is a concern, take it light on squats and supplement swimming for cardio.
