DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE OF THE COUNTY OF HALLOWFELL - 1618

 

Preamble

Since the creation of the House Merentel 30 years ago, his patriarch Lord Alexander has always helped the monarchs of the Kingdom of Courland in everything they needed: he went to war and protected the Kingdom of Courland when called.

 

When The Kingdom of Courland was dissolved we felt sad but we decided to continue helping the new Principality of Evreux. Also, we must mention that we never swore fealty to anyone: Neither Evreux nor the last Courland monarchs, only to King Tobias of Staunton.

 

However, we can stand no more the bad government of the current Principality of Evreux that only acts as The Holy Orenian Empire’s personal puppet and doesn’t care for its people.

 

For all previously mentioned, the Houses Merentel and Keint solemnly declare:

 

I. The Independence of the current Barony of Hallowfell, the Fortress of Keintania and their surroundings in the form of an Independent County: The Independent County of Hallowfell.

II. That the patriarch of House Merentel, Alexander Merentel, is the sovereign of the Independent County of Hallowfell and is allowed to modify the legislation of the County: issue laws, decrees, decree-laws and create noble titles and ranks.

III. That the Independent County will be inherited by Alexander Merentel’s eldest sons from this day until the end of time.

IV. That we have never knelt or swore fealty to any King but to the deceased King Tobias of Staunton, rightful ruler of Courland and Protector of the Heartlanders.

V. We declare WAR to the Principality of Evreux and The Holy Orenian Empire and we rebel against it.
