SO from what I am hearing then that means only Oren could be around for the humans? Not everyone wants to be under the same people every single map which is why new nations pop up. In the old maps these nations couldn't really thrive since Oren would usually wc them within a month of existence. having one nation per race would lead to people getting upset since usually its the same people in leadership spots and no one else has a say.

why do you have to restrict everything, let players do what they ******* want, that's what was beautiful about Asulon. Small nations could pop up anywhere and that would generate RP, an example of that being Khabbi, a small settlement nation I was apart of.

Having staff endorsed nations is imo the most retarded thing ever. Faction leaders should be rewarded or punished for the effort and ability they put forth in fostering a large and active player base. Aside from Haense and Norland the majority of human settlements are far too large for their 'actual player base'. (actual playerbase being whatever a leader says divided by three). Force various nations to be within walking distance of each other (read 30 seconds to 2 minute walk) so that they are forced to interact and conflict with one another. Activity checks should 100% be a thing, those giant empty metropolises should be ruined if they have sub 20 daily actives.

Yah all nations and regions should be under activity checks. It doesn't matter if your nation has been around forever. If it's dead it should be removed and your citizens can become refugees or something after an event line ruins the region.

There is literally nothing more demoralizing than walking into a city that could house 100+ people and see two people sitting afk in a tavern. In my opinion the majority of LOTC settlements are built far too ambitiously and need to be downsized to fit their playerbases (or ideally be slightly smaller than the needs of their playerbases to create demand) instead of being used to fit the fantasy of X generic feudal lord.

No, frankly I would be surprised if Oren still existed for the new map, I know this is going to piss off many Traditional Orenians (See: 12 year old screamers, I'm kidding) But if there were to be staff endorsed nations again, which by the way please don't, then the only consistently active actual human nation would be Norland (Wouldn't that be weird to have norland endorsed by staff, what a f*cking twist)

I am strongly in favor of partial freebuild.  We should let people create their own roleplay in the Wild through their own structures, but obviously there should be some limits on people's ability to modify the landscape or others' builds.  There shouldn't be griefing, landscars, such as nerdpoles, etc.

Cities, major settlements, and other designated plots under a nation's land should however have regions such as to ensure that the nation's interests are kept in order.  You couldn't realistically go about building on a lord's land, right?

Freebuild is ideal, but it MUST come hand in hand with two things:

  • Zero tolerance of landscarring among staff, if it happens the land must be returned to its original state immediately and the person punished, or banned if they do it multiple times.
  • Ability of established nations to destroy freebuild areas outside of established nations. A town must not spring up and then be invincible.

Until this point, GMs have failed to do this. I am skeptical, but willing to try.

Despite us being friends ima need to hit you with that swift **** off shill. Haense is just as active if not moreso than Norland. Lets not grease our poles too hard over Norland pride here.

@Malimom if a city is deemed inactive via activity checks, the et build team could go over and turn it into ruins.

These could be reclaimed by the previous owner or with the previous owner's consent with a new charter or a specific new charter format for this specific thing.

It'd be nice for rp and aesthetic purposes rather than empty and inactive settlements remaining perfect and brand new in looks.

I am willing to speak further about this idea but meh this pretty much sums it up.

This is why I think staff are dumb for announcing new maps literally months before they are prepared to switch over. Everyone just becomes disillusioned with the current map

I think the charter system is awful, but I don't care enough to think of a better system.

Fast Travels, if they are implemented, need to be pushed down the road so that you're forced to walk a minute or two on a road to get to the settlement, this way you can meet people on the road, get robbed or the roads can get blockaded in times of war.
