MAGICKS REGULATOR

MAGISTRATE OF HERMETICS

7th of the Deep Cold, 1658

By decree of the Dean of Hermetics, one Anordal Elverhilin is hereby given the office of a Magicks Regulator, and granted authority over matters of Magicks and the Unnatural within the Canonist Realms.  The office authority includes the following:

  • The issuance of Hermetic Licenses, as well as their revocation.

  • The active persecution and interrogation of Rogue Magi and related groups.

  • The investigation of magickal anomalies and discoveries throughout the Canonist World.

  • The elimination of magickal threats and deific cults.

  • The approval of magickal creations and artifacts.

Elvira would raise an eyebrow, pausing in drinking her mocha in her hidden grotto. "...The person who wrote this is aware that if all Deitic 'cults' are wiped out completely and become no more, there won't be anything that'll hold an advantage over the undead  aside from aurum blades that can break, and also less magics that actually hold the ability to heal people quicker than the average mundane healer, right? I mean, sure we follow the Aengudaemons but what's more important: Fighting someone and killing them because they don't follow a certain religion, or ensuring balance between light and darkness is kept and that there are capable magical healers roaming about? Because coming from a logical standpoint, I'd rather consider the larger issue  of balance than the minor and unnecessary one of religion."

She then shrugs. "Ah well. Not the first this was published out."

Elvira Jr.'s jaw drops as she read the decree within the confines of a tower. Letting her pauldrons sag on her shoulders.

"Uhh...why are you doing this?"

Bishop Berdisleyev replies to Elvira, "Most Aenguls and Daemons, although evidently born by the Creator, have since the creation of Mankind strayed from the eternal path He has bestowed upon them, and rather taken to pursue their own selfish ambitions using the descendants as their petty tools in accomplishing said task. To worship and idolize a being whose sole purpose is to emerge victorious in quarrels among themselves, let alone trade their soul for immortality and unGODly powers, is not only an act of betrayal of one's people, but also corruptive. The fight between GOOD and EVIL may be fought without the involvement of unGODly magicks, but rather with sword and cross, for it is Iblees the betrayer that defied GOD, and it would only be correct if GOD's people were to drive his forces back to the nether."

"The irony is that the Ascended Order and the Church of the Canon need to work together to truly put an end to the undead that roam our world. Sure, their religious choices are questionable, but they have helped us, and used their powers to further GOD's holy and just plans for us all. As far as I have seen, Aerial has not defied GOD like Iblees has, and the Ascended Order has, unlike the Clerical Order of the Elves of Sutica and the Druidic order of the Dominion, never strayed from their ideals and has kept a close watch on their members, ready to disconnect those who break their tenants. As an honest to GOD Canonist with devout respect to His word and that of the church of the Canon, I am personally quite fond of the Ascended Order for the good works they have done alongside us, and hold them in high regards for such. It would hurt the church in the long run to see them wiped out." Auralia countered.

"Look." A fat white man with a red cap shuffles into a seat, "I'm not racist, but I think there's a disconnect between your culture and mine; I studied the scrolls and loved the Lorraine cross. Meanwhile you sucking Aeriel's teat like she was your ******* god! Oh my God!"

"That's not at all what I am saying... I am merely stating my honest to GOD opinion as a Canonist." Auralia replied.
