Defamation of the Clerics

[!] Posters and flyers would be distributed around the Cloud Temple and the city of Sutica. They read as follows:

Those Blinded by Light

To Whom It May Concern:

Today, 17th of Snow’s Maiden, 1666, in the city of Sutica we have beared witness to a horrible act followed by an even more heinous crime. A dark creature captured an innocent child and held her hostage at the docks behind the tavern. Taunting the clerics who had come to destroy the creature, but not to rescue anybody from what we saw. The creature put the girl under an evil spell, forcing her to fight the clerics in its stead, truly despicable. Yet what the clerics did next was arguably much more monstrous.

As one cleric called forth holy flames they brought the child to her knees. As she held still and silent, clearly no longer a threat as the flames had cleansed her of the spell, the clerics decided they were not done with her. Without mercy they struck at the poor child, letting her body fall into the water below.

I do not seek to defend this wretched creature who kidnapped the child, it deserves to be killed twice over for that, but what I seek is to bring attention to another monster in our midst. One who we’ve thought were our protectors but clearly not. Every time I hear the clerics preach they speak about purity, about saving us from those dark beings that would do is harm, so then why would they cut down a child in cold blood instead of saving it? A bewitched child should pose no threat to a trained and armored cleric, why murder it instead of restraining and saving it?

And so I warn you. Those who follow the light are blinded by it, they think they can do no evil and so they commit crimes and revel in their acts of debauchery. They are not here to protect us. They seek only to destroy and annihilate, no matter how small a threat or obstacle you might be to them.

Vulnikru read over the flier, the name of her former beloved sister catching her eye. Her lips twisted into a deep frown as she skimmed over it, brow furrowing. "I guess you never really know someone..." She mused as she took the flier with her on her travels.

Shaking his head, an aged man grooms his beard upon hearing such news on his latest trip to the famed auction house of the Cloud Temple monks. The left arm behind his back, usually used for keeping posture, now tenses up, making a fist. His facial, or any other, features unchanging, he turns from the poster, deciding that it was a good day to walk home this time.

Aila calmly has the flyers in Sutica taken down and burned, muttering loudly enough to be heard by all readers, "Of course they leave out the part where the 'child' grew claws and started trying to rend the flesh of a Minister when she closed in to free her from her fellow izkuthii. Perhaps I should talk to Harebear about erecting a ward. That'll deny them their foul magic." Without further ado, a glorious bonfire of blatantly false and misleading posters has been made. On private property. With a lot of water nearby.

Zbyszek plucked a flyer from a wall, and began to skim through it. he nodded at a few spots, but for the most part his face remained darkened. after a moment he crumpled it and tossed it beneath his boot. "and what do these undead, dark magic practitioners want for us? sure ain't long lives and happiness. two faces, same coin" he then tramped on towards the tavern

Upon seeing the posters removed. A blindfolded monk would wander the streets placing more copies up along his travels as he peered through the thin cover over his eyes.  "Such actions are not to be tolerated by the realm. On both sides of the issue."

A Sutican Defense Minister, having taken one of the notices on daily rounds around the city, raises a brow, sighing, "Bloody hell..." The 'Ker would mutter to himself, his grip crumpling the bottom right corner of the page slightly, "Why must these sorts of things happen when I'm never around. More work to the load, I suppose." The man then gazed over the skyline of the city, his gaze narrowing on the smoke of the bonfire. Mumbling curses under his breath, his right eye would twitch violently for a moment. Before he donned his helm, pacing off once more, towards the barracks.
