A simple war-related your view. We're using a new automated system for Siege equipment like Trebuchets. This was used today in the Whitepeak warclaim and seemed to be mostly functional with a few tweaks needed to improve usability.

 

For the feedback to not cover existing topics; We've made it so that for future warclaims each side will choose who can use Siege Equipment. Those who are not chosen cannot use said Siege equipment. This will be in effect for tomorrow's (Reiver Siege) warclaim and beyond.

 

Discuss! We want to make the Siege plugin fun and friendly for everyone, new or old.

First.

 

From what I saw with the trebuchets is that they're a nice addition, but have a few issues that need to be worked out.

Just wondered why the defender's side blew up quicker than the attackers oh wait... sabotage.

Literally have people on our status but on their side sabotaging our siege equipment, messing with the signs so that our shots wouldn't hit. Had people opening the gate for the enemy on our status. Need to fix this issue first before we edit the plugin.

3 trebs hit and destroyed literally the second the siege plugin was enabled.

Was hit and destroyed means we hit it, I destroyed 2 of those, because you guys put them close to each other lol.

turns out the shots have pretty big AoEs so if you hit between two you can break them both if they're close. So just a thing of luck and good estimating that they got 2 hits out of 5ish shots right off the bat, and then one of our blew up when it shot. 

 

but yeah def did not help that random screamers kept ******* w/ our controls. but 501's added authorisation so hopefully that should fix that. the idea of the plugin seems p cool but destruction % def needs to be lowered imo.

Judging if you fired off all of your 9 shots, the fact that one malfunctioned is actually pretty impressive, many more probably could have considering the odds. Quite frankly, you guys failed because you didn’t have your **** together, we did. This victory isn’t the fault of anything but our organization and your lack of it.

We literally had people who weren't on our side with our status on, jumping on and about the trebs, spammong the controls and specifically causing issues- We were pretty well organized till that happened.

 

Perhaps lowering of the AoE, whilst the destruction of three trebs in one shout could be seen as ""realistic"" its not entirely fun in the slightest.

False, I shall tell you why, simply enough the ARA is conglomeration of unknown forces. Its made of people that do not like Renatus for one reason or another, its not the same unified group. You had Snelfs, Courlanders, Heansemen, CoH, Rivia, Riviers, some Orc faction, Naeverra.. Throw in a bunch of randoms to the mix. What did you except shall happen? You might not have had everyone in voice even. 

 

They were on your side with your status, but were they silly? They had no idea what they were doing? Were they acting stupid? Most than likely.

 

To protect our own trebs from the same problem, our war-camp had 10 people in it only 5 people shooting trebs and 5 people scouting.. Everyone else was from the start sent away on a wide flank..

nah 3 malfunctioned over all I think. so that'd be 60 shots for that to be statistically likely(1/20 chance per shot iirc), but main issue wasn't bad luck just bad placement of trebs and letting randos get near them. lesson learned in that regard. 

 

really war server needs LWC tbh, too easy for some dipshit to start ******* w/ gates and **** just because. it was impossible to stay organised when our commanders kept having to scream at ppl over gates every two seconds.
