A Change in the Wind

The Silver City of Haelun'or bustled with chatter lingering in the air as the various people came through the gates of the newly-open Silver City. Markets were opened and trade began to prosper as the new ideas of the Silver Council began to bear fruit, seeing those who walk the paths of the various races wander through the streets of Haelun'or and interacting with the High Elves, forging relations and social connections.

These ideas and changes to the culture of Haelun'or were brought about by the current Okarir'tayna Vanya Lauar'ante and supported by the Okarir'mali Arelion Lauar'ante when they began to rebuild the crumbling city of Okarir'thilln, regenerating it into its former glory. However, this day would bring unyielding curiosity to the people of the Silver City as word has reached the Silver City of a High Elf man in the Dominion of Malin conducting research on a new type of magic that does not require a voidal connection, worshipping a deity, or performing dark rituals in order to obtain the magic. This man would be endlessly pouring over the tomes of the magical world, reading up on the various schools of magic and learning all he can to understand the weaknesses and strengths of the various schools.

Rumors of this magic spread across the Dominion and the surrounding area but during this fateful day, all relevant notices were kept under wraps by the Ministry of Magic and the Silver Council.

Well, all but one.

The following was kept up, though most of it was defiled, on one of the gate walls...

Spoiler

Balance is always ordained by the deities and by creatures like the September Prince. This is not true as we descendants can hold the power to guard against Dark Magic, Deity Magic, and Voidal Magic or even to keep the Balance in places where there is none. As I research this magic, I find it easier to gain understanding of the world around me and to feel the power that generates all around us, just waiting to be used. Though magic is not natural, I do not see it this way. I see magic as natural as can be to the people of the world and this research shows such things. If I get this magic fully researched, I'd extend an invitation to my friend Vanya Damaer of Haelun'or and my friend Elvira to come and see me so that I may teach them this magic...

The rest of this notice is all defiled with blackened ink or paint. It also seems to cover up whoever signed this notice as well.

A small noble boy pours over the assorted books, with memorabilia marked 'The Baron of Creators' all over his walls. He'd read the missive with glee as he'd run towards his father,

"Father! The New Book shall be released soon, it even said, this little missive!"

Not even a father could love his son's obsession, or his son for that matter. For such an insolent action, he was beaten till bloody and locked in his room without supper.

Klaus grumbles as he reads the missive, crumpling it up and throwing it to the wind.

"Insolence. Magic is not the answer."

He writes a series of letters, mechanical messengers blot out any remaining documents with these letters, reading:

"Grit is the only way to beat the prince. Do not rely on magic."

[!] The missive would be placed back the next elven day on the gate, though it would be different, revealing a previously covered portion of the missive.

Spoiler

Everyone who believes in the September Prince will fear those who guard the World Balance....

The letter keeps getting replaced, with new wording:

"Another Mordskov in the making. Be wary."

Morgan Hallowfall thinks for a second, seeing the small robot which totally works with tech-lock, as he'd try to prod it with a long iron stick.

Derrick glances over the missive, scratching his head as he walks right down the road. He'd pause as he'd feel a disturbance in the wind. "Something bad is going to happen. I can feel it." He'd wipe the blood away as his nose started bleeding again, "Something very bad is going to happen. And I'm sure it has something to do with someone breaking open locked tech."
