Since we are doing OOC reasoning, these screenshots are the raiders being informed that clergy were present. They said ‘We don’t care, Clergyman’, then slaughtered them. The excommunication was done the same way as anyone who kills clergymen would have it done. Blago, in fact, quit the server just as I was writing my excommunication of him, I thought we may as well continue the RP anyway and so posted it. If Mog wants to get into an OOC fit over it, that is his choice. I have no hard feelings about anyone, or anything.

With this out of the way, let’s get that juicy RP business dealt with!

DEUM DEITAS EX IMPERATORIA

ON IMPERIAL GODHOOD

13th of Sun’s Smile, 1693

His Holiness Siegmund, High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon, Metropolitan of Rhodesia, Successor of the High Priesthood of the Church, Supreme Pontiff of the Church of True Faith, Keeper of the Canon, Pilgrim to Aeldin, High Servant to the Exalted's Testaments, Humble Servant of the Faithful and Vicar of GOD doth reply…

To the so called Divine Emperor of Mankind, he who fashions himself to be GOD incarnate, the creator of all things, and the one true God. Let me be of the most sincere in my response to your own mandate issued this very month, and clear in my own words to you, without the pompous extravagance that you hold dear, your own titles.

For Aurelius Horen claims to be Divine, a most curious claim amongst any. For even the Dwarves have more claim over your own throne than you do to His, for at least they have sat upon it unlike you who only make a pauper's show of your own name by claiming it. Lo’ for if you do seat yourself upon the Divine’s throne and claim to be that of GOD, then surely you would have no need of the legions of men that have sacrificed, and sacrifice, themselves for the playing of power you so enjoy.

Surely you, being GOD as you claim, have no need to bring thousands to death and toil beneath yourself in order to claim a pittance of the lands of the world beneath your banner. Surely if you are GOD utmostly, you could cease the worship of those who profess the faith of Jalfmar, they who you say are known as Gorundyr, to say the least of the deeds you could accomplish, for even the Red Faith still stands and thrusts its third finger at you defiantly !

And lo’ he in his own arrogance claims to have crowned himself, and not only this, but also claims to be regent to himself in that same sentence. A man so marked with envy of the Divine that he strives to name all things he might to his own being. So disillusioned with his own limitations he sees himself as GOD, a crowned man of GOD in the form of a self described Prophet in his own words, and a regent to GOD ! With these things, he then goes on to elaborate further upon his own egotistical secretion. That being of his Divine special grace as if that might be separated from GOD in some manner, and further he speaks of certain Divine knowledge which did not aid him in the slightest during the recent siege of Kaz-Ulrah where he did deign it unnecessary to alert his own generals, for he was too craven to attend, that their plan of attack was flawed and that they would be required to adjust their plans mid-battle, if he even knew of this ! Even so, he adds that through mere motion he might have the capacity to cast out any from the Holy Mother Church, while even within his own vassals he is incapable of doing so without bowing his own head to those of his supporters so that they might do what he cannot on his behalf !

Continuing, the man that claims to be GOD must usher in threats of force as if I would tremble at the thought of meeting the true GOD, for at least the one true GOD would speak to me plainly face to face as He has done to all He speaks to if I have erred and not send some parchment with ink upon it as the pretentious cretin Aurelius Horen has done !

A weak and simple letter, marked by the writing of a weak and simple man as he, does not carry weight upon my shoulders for they lift in a great show of boisterous amusement. For should this man be GOD, then let him strike me down without the hand of any mortal man, nor mortal creation. Let him take from me my soul and present it before all to prove his Divinity. Lo’ he will not for he cannot, his own anger bubbling as he reads these words does naught but stress his own heart more than he could ever do to me through whatever power he supposes he holds.

Yet, even in this missive to me, this supposed, self proclaimed, and false GOD leaves the work of the Divine to mortal men, for should I be truly false in my works then should GOD not shine down light upon any man to take my place naturally, and not rely upon the election of a new Pontiff? I say this man is but playing a parody of GOD, for should he be GOD then surely he is capable of electing a suitable man to remove me from my place without the need of threats, or public missives !

I scoff at the thought Aurelius Horen might be GOD, for he is alike to that other Horen of the Fifth Holy Orenian Empire, by the name of Philip Frederick, who had done the same yet did not give chance for the then High Pontiff Theodosius II to flee, instead killing him quickly. Lo’ what disaster that deed wrought upon the Empire in those days, a schism that blossomed to four for the Holy Mother Church, and the disaster that met that same Emperor so completely that his own vassals abandoned him within months, his own city besieged within years, and alike to that of Aurelius Horen, his craven nature made him face not the foes at his door in honourable fashion, but instead conive in secret to deal with the issue with the only public appearance of it being that of a gross overreaction. Yet, unlike to that, I doubt Aurelius Horen will commit suicide and condemn all the people of Carolustadt to death so that he might save but a fragment of his face when the true GOD does show Himself to that man after his deeds are done to me !

With this, out of my own grace and not the claimed grace of GOD, as you would surely hope as you masquerade yourself as Him, I shall extend to you, Aurelius Horen, this branch. I shan’t excommunicate you, nor deem you anathema as some might wish I do.

For what use is there in doing so when you, in your own words, in your own actions, and in your own thoughts have condemned yourself to them from the true GOD above, and not to me?

Bottle mourns for the Pontiff as the man sorely abuses the free will gifted to him by the grace of GOD. Using the powers gifted him by his lofty seat within the Holy Church of the Canon to further his own ends, and gain at others expense. Truly a shame Bottle thinks.

A multitude of Martyrs within the Skies wonder how exactly one could come to this way of thinking as they watch the mourning ensue.

Bottle also mourns for a man named Jude, guilty of much of the same hubris.
