As to the problem with the lag, I was thinking could something be acting like a hub instead of a switch or router thus causing unnecessary data traffic and slowing things down?

im new got whitelissted yester day adn it seys its out datded! im on 1.8.1

My recommendation for the next patch is that once we fix this absolutely atrocious lag for 1.8 we leave the server on 1.8 until the appropriate fixes are made for 1.9. Admirable work with the updates, but the lag is what's getting me unfortunately.

Are you sure you're not using the pre-release 1.9? The server is 1.8.1, so I don't know why you would get that error otherwise.
