THE COUNTY OF VINTAS

Issued and confirmed by The Right Honourable Count of Vintas, Alexander II of the House of Merentel, 9th of The Deep Cold, 1722

After proving his loyalty to the Holy Orenian Empire in the War of the Two Emperors, His Imperial Majesty Godfrey II of the House of Cascadia rewarded Alexander II of the House of Merentel with land located to the north-west of the Imperial City of Helena and with the noble title of Count of Vintas.

 

Afterwards, Ser Nicholas of the House of Keint, knight of the Order of Pertinax, swore fealty to Alexander II of the House of Merentel and recognized him as his rightful liege lord. His Imperial Majesty Godfrey II of the House of Cascadia decided then to reward Ser Nicholas of the House of Keint with the noble title of Baron of Kaath. 

Nowadays, the Barony of Kaath is a settlement located in the County of Vintas ruled by His Lordship, Nicholas of the House of Keint, Knight of the realm of the Order of Pertinax and Baron of Kaath.

 

One of the reasons the County of Vintas is well-known in the realm is because of the fact that most of Its citizens speak santegian ((spanish)) because of the military conflicts that the Independent County of Hallowfell and its Barony of Keintania had in the Isles of Axios with the Kingdom of Santegia.

THE COMITAL COUNCIL OF VINTAS

 

The Comital Council of Vintas serves to aid and advise the right honourable Count of Vintas on all issues, offering him aid in any issue required to consult with him. The Comital Council of Vintas is formed by the most loyal and wise citizens of Vintas, because in them falls the responsibility to discuss the future of the County of Vintas. The Right Honourable Count of Vintas is the only one who is able to decide who sits upon The Comital Council. They have a common responsibility and duties which it may sometimes have to exercise without the presence of the Count. 

 

The Count-In-Council

 

The Count of Vintas, also known as the Count-In-Council when he presides the sessions of the Comital Council, has full control over the Comital Council of Vintas, determining its powers and occupants. He has the duty of leading the council when he attends its sessions, and he also possess the power to act beyond the power of the council if he believes it necessary.  

 

The current Count of Vintas is His Imperial Excellency, Alexander II of the House of Merentel, Minister of Truth of the Holy Orenian and Imperial Crown of the Exalted Godfrey, Count of Vintas, Baron of Hallowfell and Knight of the Order of the Pertinax.

 

The Countess of Vintas

 

The Countess of Vintas is the wife of the Count of Vintas. She has a sit in the Comital Council of Vintas and although not endowed with any particular duties or responsibilities he may be assigned certain duties by the Count.

 

The current Countess is The Right Honourable Elissa of the House of Merentel, Countess of Vintas.

 

The Baron of Kaath

 

The Baron of Kaath has a sit in the Comital Council to serve the County of Vintas. He holds penultimate authority within the Comital Council of Vintas and, in lieu of the presence of the Count, he is empowered to oversee sessions of the Council. He is charged to preserve the Comital House by any means and to serve as chief amongst other comital members.

 

The current Baron of Kaath is His Lordship, Nicholas of the House of Keint, Knight of the Order of the Pertinax and Baron of Kaath.

 

The Chancellor of Vintas 

 

The Chancellor holds antepenultimate authority within the Comital Council of Vintas and, in lieu of the presence of the Count of Vintas and the Baron of Kaath, he is empowered to oversee sessions of the council. He is charged to preserve the Comital House by any means and to serve as chief amongst other comital members.

 

The current Chancellor is His Excellency, Erec of the House of Keint of Blackden, Chancellor of the County of Vintas.

 

The Marshal of Vintas 

 

The Marshal is charged with overseeing  The Black Guard and its fortifications, with levying and otherwise drafting the peasantry of the County in times of war, with ensuring the ample stocking of the comital armories, and with the training of new officers within the County.

 

The current Marshal is His Excellency, Auriel, Marshal of the County of Vintas.

 

The Comital Seal of Vintas

 

The Comital Seal is charged to keep the Count’s wax seal and draft his legislation, and to maintain the traditions and culture of the County through the publishing and keeping of both comital documentation and cultural materials.

 

The current Comital Seal is His Excellency, Daemon of the House of Merentel, Comital Seal of the County of Vintas.

 

The Master of Whispers of Vintas

 

The Master of Whispers is charged to act as keeper of the prestige of the County of Vintas. He has the duty of supervising the citizens of the County of Vintas and to sanction whoever defames the County and its people.  

 

The current Master of Whispers is His Excellency, Daniel, Master of Whispers of the County of Vintas.

 

The Seneschal of Vintas

 

The Seneschal is charged to act as chief herald and keeper of the lands of the County of Vintas, managing the Castle of Hallowfell and the Barony of Kaath. He has furthermore the ability to staff the Castle of Hallowfell as he sees fit, to uphold etiquette within The Comital Council of Vintas, to hold hunts, festivals, tourneys, and other events throughout the lands of Vintas, the management of civil and construction projects.

 

The current Seneschal is His Excellency, Rioyault, Seneschal of the County Vintas.

 

The Priest of Vintas

 

The Priest has the task of maintaining the church’s values among the County of Vintas. He has the duty to celebrate masses and marriages within the Chapel of Vintas.

 

The current Priest is His Excellency, Dennis Crow, Priest of the County of Vintas

 

The Justicar of Vintas

 

The Justicar is tasked with drafting new legislation for the County. He is also tasked with the maintenance and enforcement of the imperial law issuing punishments to the low-borns who defy it, or acting as prosecutor before the Imperial Court in case that the accused is a noble-born.

 

The current Justicar is His Excellency, Sabir of the House de Savin, Justicar of the County of Vintas and Patriarch of the House de Savin.

 

The Court Mage of Vintas

 

The Court Mage has the task of acting as the magical advisor of the Comital Council of Vintas in magic-related matters. She’s also charged to protect and serve the Count of Vintas with her magic abilities.

 

The current Court Mage is Her Excellency, Victoria Elizabeth, Court Mage of Vintas.

 

The Diplomat of Vintas

 

The Diplomat has the task of acting as the ambassador of the County of Vintas in other settlements and of accompanying the Count of Vintas in his diplomatic missions. He must try to maintain good relations with the neighbours of the County of Vintas, including the vassals of the Holy Orenian Empire.

 

The current Diplomat is His Excellency, Dante Lucis Spartacus, Diplomat of Vintas.

THE BLACK GUARD 

The Black Guard of Vintas has the duty of defending the County of Vintas and the Barony of Kaath, including their citizens as well as the House of Merentel and the House of Keint. The Black Guard of Vintas is commanded by His Excellency, Auriel, the Marshal of Vintas. Members of The Black Guard are provided gear and possessions, along with food, drink, and housing within the Castle of Hallowfell.

 

Marshal

The Marshal is hereby appointed by The Right Honourable Count of Vintas and acts as the primary executor of the Count’s orders and directives. He shall command The Black Guard of Vintas.

 

Captains

A Captain is incredibly reliable in both combat, and leadership. They manage ensigns and enlisted soldiers, acting as an extension and tool of senior command. These soldiers command respect, and such is earned with their loyalty. Captains do not hesitate, nor do they fear out-lash. 

 

Sergeants

Sergeants are the highest ranking soldiers within the enlisted ranks, honed and experienced in fields of combat and leadership. These men and women show potential for something greater, and often show such. They command lower ranks and listen to orders from superiors without question, and often are shrewd enough to execute command without doubt or hesitation.

These men have shown capable in the field of fighting and obeying orders. They’ve proven loyal and strong, having been battle tested before. These soldiers are exceptional at taking orders and carrying them out without impunity.

 

Soldiers

Soldiers of the Black Guard form the bulk of the guardforce. Soldiers have proved themselves worthy, as full-fledged soldiers of The Black Guard, they’ve begun their long path of service to the County of Vintas and its people.

 

Recruits

Men who have yet to prove themselves worthy. It is during their time as a Recruit when they are put to test for a whole year. They are evaluated after this year, and based on their performance, they shall then be promoted to Soldier, remain a Recruit, or discharged from the ranks.
