Ser Aedan Capulei with members of the Brotherhood,

7th of The Grand Harvest, 1748

My fellow citizens of Haense- I would like to preface this speech by thanking Kamila Julya Stafyr for her many years of dedication to the position, and the work she was able to accomplish in her tenure. I also wish the utmost of luck to my opponent, Siegmund Wick.

Some of you may know of me, some of you may not. My name is Ser Aedan Capulei. I have been in Haense for many years now, and have seen many things. I recall a time where we were niet fighting Morsgrad and the AIS, but instead where our enemies were orcs. I recall a time when the carrion black ran dry, and riots erupted as a result. I recall a time when the city we held dear was razed, a time when helped Curon fight back the Voidal Tear plaguing their city, a time when our fighters fought back the Pagans in the fields, a time when we marched into battle to defeat Grief. But these events.. Are not just events. No, instead they are what make us Haensetians. A people who fight for Justice, a people who fight for what is right, and protect our lands and our culture. It has been my honor, each and every time, to fight alongside every good man and woman of Haense, whether in Orcish lands, whether in the smoke and chaos of the fire, whether we are fighting monsters from the void, or Pagans from foreign lands. I am proud to say that I have stood with Haense through good and bad or through thick and thin.

These past few years have been grueling. We are close to reaching ten years of this conflict, with no signs of the war stopping soon. Men, women, children, none have been safe from the Pagans who scour the countryside. In these times, many of us have found ourselves spending most of our days within the city. As a result, we must continue working to improve and adapt our city to the threats this war provides, and ensure that as a people, we are self-sufficient, unified, and ready to fight. The question is, how do we accomplish this. What can we do now that we have not yet done, in order to better fight the Pagans and emerge victorious? We must unite together to fight once more, not in the fields, but instead fighting to improve the Kingdom we call home. If elected Maer, my main and unyielding drive will be towards flawless communication amongst our Kingdom, and the various forms of Government. Whether from the Duma chamber, the office of the Maer, the treasury, or the Palace itself, communication should be, must be, and will be absolute, to ensure we are working at the best of our capabilities. But enough of my babbling, none of that matters if my agenda does not match what I say!

First and foremost, I seek a full renovation of the Clinic, as well as restocking of medicines, salves, supplies and kits for use in the Clinic. Too many times have I seen people of Haense injured and in need of a medic get improper care due to lack of many medically trained individuals, and a proper clinic to use. I seek to train the citizens of Haense in medicine, so that they may become Licensed in various forms, whether those being Field Medicine for the members of the Brotherhood, or trained nurses and surgeons prepared to help at home. As well as this, I hope to train a group of individuals in order to control any potential diseases that may break out, as well as stocking of an apothecary, so that we may be prepared to combat any diseases that arise. I hope to work closely with Doctor Mayan Avern in these efforts, so that Haense may become a leader of medicine in Arcas. I am proud to announce that  I will be donating one thousand minas towards these efforts, so that supplies may be purchased, and this project can come to fruition.

Secondly, I wish to make education a primary objective within the Kingdom. Wars are often waged in the fields, but also in the mind. By the hiring of teachers, as well as hosting of lessons for the populus of Haense, I seek to sharpen the minds of the citizens of Haense, so that we may all work together in order to improve our great kingdom. From historical classes, weapons training, cooking exercises or the aforementioned medical training, every citizen of Haense will have an equal opportunity at seeking a full and complete education.

As a third point, a goal of mine is to boost the economic capability of Haense, through introducing a more competitive atmosphere within Haenseti commerce. Those who wish to become merchants within Haense will have expanded opportunities to do so, by reduced pricing on stalls, and monitoring of stalls currently in operation, with the help of our cities Stewards, and with the approval of the recently appointed Head Steward, Peter Bisk. Stalls must continue to remain stocked and selling items in order to make the best use of our markets, and encourage our vendors to put their best foot forward in their business. But Haense is not alone in the commercial market! Many of our allies have bolstering economies, and through working to secure trade contracts for business owners within Haense, we can improve the circulation of goods amongst the Empire, making a name for Haense in the trade market.

Finally, I seek to diversify the events held in our dear city. Do niet get me wrong, I love myself a good dance, but we must host other events for our citizens to enjoy! I hope to establish more events that are fun and unique to Haense, so that we may continue to represent our fine culture and embrace our cultural identity as Haensemen. But to do this, we need space within the city. Due to this, I am seeking to work with the architects within Haense, as well as our stewards in order to make a space within our cities walls that we may host activities in, so that we do not risk being attacked by pagans during our festivities, and can enjoy them in safety. This will allow for a wide range of events, including scavenger hunts, feasts, tournaments and competitions, as well as providing the Brotherhood a spot to train within the cities walls. Either from camping trips with the Brotherhood, whale hunting on the cold shores of Ayr, cooking lessons courtesy of Chef Hogo Bojo, or plays within our theater, I hope to bring Haense culture into the forefront of Arcas, with events that are a must-see.

Concluding my speech, I hope to improve the infrastructure of our dear nation, so that we may be the best form of Haense that we can be, and defeat the Pagans who threaten us. But to do that, I turn now to the citizens of Haense, to give me the chance to do everything I have promised in this speech, and to help me improve this Kingdom we call home. Thank you, Ave Andrik, and Ave Haense!

Signed,

Ser Aedan Capulei

“The clinic is already being renovated!” hollered Chesna Kovachev, looking up from her blueprints of the building.

Osvald whistled in pride at Aetan’s bid, nodding alongside a couple of Brotherhood soldiers, gathered around the table. He would grunt in peace. “Well, I do believe that Aedan Capulei can bring a voice to the people, if he was representing them in the Duma, and in general. I do believe Aedan would make a good Maer for our fair city of Reza, and I expect him to deliver his promises very quickly indeed.”

The doctor gazes up at the empty structure of the clinic- having not even seen blueprints, and yet it was stripped bare of materials she herself had supplied with a scowl. Then gazing to the paper and huffing outwards, clenching her jaw and nodding her approval of such a statement- murmuring ensuing amongst her family.

Erwin nods in approval alongside several others. ”I support Aedan, although I hope both sides keep the election respectful” he mutters under his breath.

[!] A note given to Aeden verifying the endorsement

You have my endorsement as High Steward of Reza. The Wick boy is too young and I believe your plans to be better than his. I should say though, the clinic is already being renovated. Best of luck in your election.

Sincerely,

Peter Bisk
