Submitted on behalf of the Plaintiff by Christiansen-Wick Solicitors

The Plaintiff Edmund Bren,

Represented by Konstantin Wick of Christiansen-Wick Solicitors,

DESIRES TO SUMMON THE FOLLOWING PARTY TO COURT:

Padraig O’Rourke,

ON THE BASIS OF THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE OF LAW:

“Where an individual knowingly disseminates false information about an individual, with intent to harm the reputation of that individual, in a public space or by the distribution of printed materials, this shall be defamation in the first degree, a misdemeanor.”

-CH202.063, Lex Criminalis, Oren Revised Code

  1.  The Defendant, the incumbent mayor of the city of Owynsburg, did declare before a crowd during the Owynsburg mayoral debate that his competitor, the Plaintiff, attempted to kill him by way of hired assassin, and offered no evidence to substantiate his claim.
  2. The Plaintiff alleges that the Defendant, in his failure to provide any evidence to substantiate his claim, deliberately articulated this false information to damage the Plaintiff’s position in the mayoral election;
  3. The Plaintiff’s business premises, a tavern, were subsequently evicted as a result of the defamatory allegation;
  4. In conclusion, the Plaintiff maintains that the Defendant’s actions damaged their position in the mayoral election and led to their loss of ownership of business premises, greatly frustrating the Plaintiff’s livelihood. Consequently, the Plaintiff is petitioning the Court for damages in the amount of 8,000 Marks and a public apology from the Defendant.
  5. Before proceeding to adjudication, the Plaintiff invites the Defendant to negotiate a potential settlement.

WITH THE PRESENCE OF THE FOLLOWING PARTIES:

  1.  Edmund Bren;
  2. Roland Bren;
  3. Mariana Dubois.

ON THE DESIRED DATE OF:

Pending discussions with the Defendant and a submission of a replying affidavit.

YOURS HUMBLY,

Edmund Bren,

Represented by Konstantin Wick of Christiansen-Wick Solicitors,

7 Silver Jubilee Fountain, Helena Office

2 Petyr’s Passage, New Reza Office

Quinn O’Rourke furrows her brows at the summons, a loud exhale coming from her quarters as she cleans her desk of spare papers. “Oh goodness... W’at are m’e family members gettin’ themselves into...” She remarked only to herself, rubbing the bridge of her nose.

Roland Bren would nod in approval.

To defame my family and run around playing mayor. Barbaric, I say. Barbaric!”

As the King of Urguan said, if you can’t match the Bren reputation, they bring us down to their level and act like they are better!

Sir Adrian Leopold, the Baron Roussard, rubs his palms together in excitement, prepared to support most benevolent subjects and companions. “The Bren’s have done nothing but bring glory and triumph for our Empire. Remarkable is the line of Roland and his peers, why would someone slander them with lies and deceit?”

Fyrr’ aep ______ is filled with shock and rage to see the letters B-R-E-N, perhaps the name of the family Bren, repeated so many times on a piece of paper. Truly he must find somebody to read this aloud to him to get to the bottom of this.

Leufroy Falkenrath pens a short letter to both parties, claiming the case after the circuit’s approval. “Both parties will have five Saint’s days to prepare and submit their evidence.” The letter would be sealed in wax stamped with the image of an eagle surrounded by laurels of leaves.
