Announcement of Impeachment for Edward Galbraith

 

On the 10th of the Sun’s Smile, 1774, the House of Commons shall hold an emergency sitting to discuss the potential impeachment of the Secretary of the Interior, Sir Edward Galbraith. He is accused of:

 

Corruption

  • Bribery of an ISA soldier 
  • Conspiring alongside his fiancee to poison an ISA Officer

 

Abuse of Power 

  • Mismanagement of the City of Helena
  • Appointing his own representatives to offices, rather than having them being elected by the city
  • Wrongful dismissal of employees

Embezzlement

  • Pocketing money granted to him by the Ministry of the Treasury that was meant to be used as pay for his employees.

“Whew the city is filled with drama, well which city?” Lady Halcourt thought to herself while drinking her tea in the Halcourt Estate, then finally getting her thought to say. “Ah yes the Imperial Capital, which I love.” Sabrina Halcourt spoke her words in a cheerful and joking manner.

Padraig O’Rourke reads the letter from his bow of his fishing vessel and sighs. “Dark Days lads, dark days.”

Johanna Pruvia-Albarosa opens the letter with a gentle motion. She shudders at the message. “Oh dear.. my poor brother.” She sighs, putting the letter aside.

Alaric DeNurem shakes his head. “Bribing and conspiring against our comrades, it is a shameful display.”

“False accusations, all of them.” Edward Galbraith would state before shaking his head as he hears the news. “I’m innocent of all these charges and I’ll prove it”

“In the month of the man’s wedding, no less!” The Duke comments as an aside to his brother the Count of Pompourelia, his mouth sniveling some at the perceived disrespect of the inquiry. “Rather crude. A gentleman should be able to enjoy his bridal tour, I should think. You know I’ve always been charitable with these things. A family man is a family man, that’s what I say.”

 

He then goes quiet, his brother failing to give an encouraging response.

With great force and vigor, the Count mashes the remaining stub of his cigar into the ashtray, creating a mess within the tea room.

 

“You do know, dear brother that there is not much substance in these allegations. What sort of schlepper wishes for the Home Office to be governed by municipal elections? I do hope Mister Galbraith has a clue and does not fumble this, lest his wife leaves him and his wedding will be in vain. I do believe it will be an entertaining show, will you come forth and watch this circus with me?”

George Galbraith would read his daily paper, while eating his breakfast, wondering what the embezzlement charge would mean.

 

”I guess we’ll see tonight.” He’d shake his head
