THE IMPERIAL WEDDING OF 1776

 

TO THE LOYAL SUBJECTS OF THE EMPIRE,
It is with great pleasure that the Imperial Crown does wish to formally announce the union of HIH Prince John Charles to the Lady Irene Ruthern, to be joined in holy matrimony in the year of 1776. In anticipation of the imperial wedding, festivities and other revelries shall be held throughout the city of Helena in celebration for the pair leading up to the date. 

 

THUS, IT IS DECLARED THAT A STATE OF CELEBRATION SHALL ENCOMPASS THE YEAR OF 1776.

 

The months of festivities shall commence as follows:

 

The Novellen Festival and Ball 
Godfrey’s Triumph - Friday 10th July 4pm EST
The formal wedding celebrations shall commence with a speech from HIH the Princess Imperial, Anne Augusta within the city’s Varoche Hall. Following the speech, attendees of the celebrations are welcomed to traverse the city to see the various stalls and participate in any present festivities. 

 

Godfrey’s Triumph - Friday 10th July 4:30pm EST
As hosted by the Imperial Association for the Performing Arts, and directed by Mr. Peridot Carrington, the doors of the Novellen Palace open to all for the play– which, in specific, shall be determined and announced at a later date. The performance shall be held within the theatre in the palace gardens. 

 

Godfrey’s Triumph - Friday 10th July pm 5:30pm EST
The day of festivities shall conclude with a grand ball. All are welcome to attend, and a dress code surrounding Oren herself - her colours of red, white, and gold, shall be additionally encouraged. Gifts may be offered to the betrothed pair, allowing for the people of Oren to bless the matrimony of the future heir to the throne.

 

The Tourney of Oren
Tobias’s Bounty - Saturday 11th July 6pm EST
In the month following the opening festivities, a grand military tournament shall be held in the Helena countryside. A sheet allowing participants to sign up will be posted closer to the date of commencement regarding all wedding festivities. To celebrate the military might of Oren, now and into the future, skilled fighters and swordsmen are invited to participate in an Imperial tourney. Those participating shall move through a series of rounds, until one singular victor emerges. The Lady Irene shall then present the victor with an honorary sash and monetary prize.

 

The Imperial Wedding
Sun’s Smile - Sunday 12th July 4pm EST
As the official events draw to a final conclusion, the betrothed pair shall be formally wed within the Basilica of Final Revelation in Helena. Under the blessed hand of the High Pontiff, the two will recite their vows, allowing their union to be officiated beneath the eye of GOD, and the law. 

 

The Tour of the Empire 
Following the formal proceedings, the newly wedded couple shall be accompanied by members of the Imperial Household, as well as the Imperial State Army, as they traverse the provinces of Oren in a grand tour over the course of several months following the ceremony and festivities.
