Karl sighed, his eyes fixated on the letter he received on what had happened at the Duma. He shook his head lightly with a soft smile. “Died doing what you loved, Konrad... You always were a man of hard work, was never made to live in retirement.” He grabbed some utensils and a piece of paper as he began writing a letter of condolence to House Stafyr. “Damn me for never telling him how much I appreciated that man... Thank GOD for keeping him with us for that long though.”

FULL STATEMENT ON THE PASSING OF SIR KONRAD STAFYR KM

14th of the Sun’s Smile, 1779

I am deeply aggrieved by the loss of my good friend Konrad, a paragon of public service and a champion of political civility. Over fifty five years ago, I came to the Haeseni Duma as a freshman member representing our northernmost fief. It was there that I met then Speaker Stafyr, an idealist and diligent man whom the entirety of humanity has had the privilege of having in government. As Lord Palatine, I did not agree with him on many issues related to budgetary discretion, spending, and the role of the government in its relation to our nobility. Indeed, Speaker Stafyr had an ambition to assume my role, and I thank the grace of our late King Andrik III for granting Konrad the opportunity to be our head of government following my departure.

The pleasure of serving with Konrad lasted in our next chapter in the Imperial Diet. His election in 1754 was well-deserved as we embarked on initiatives that tackled education, the state of our clinics, and protecting the imperial federalism that has shaped the character of the government. His tenacity and long-winded speeches were an indelible mark of his personality, showing his commitment and persistence to advocate on behalf of his constituents. He has always been an innovator and guardian of integrity. I send my sympathy for the House of Stafyr for losing a great man. May he keep the saints in good company.

An aged and scarred man watched over the passing from the seven skies. He offered a bow of silence as he drank his carrion with his kith, the man of yore upon hearing the news remained silent for a moment, before raising his hand in toast respectfully to the man he once knew, though they parted as enemies. He had always respected the man for his good heart and the friendship he had once provided an older Vladrick. “To you, good Sir Konrad, I raise a toast, for your life was one of fortune. You have my thanks for all you taught me and the friendship we once had. You gave me nothing but loyalty and respect when many others did not. For that. I will always remember you. Be safe and rest peacefully now, good man. For your time to rest has begun.” He would state to his family. He returned to his seat next to Marius, offering the young boy a gentle pat upon the shoulder as they now went back to their rest.

Angelika Bykov gasped softly upon her husband informing her of the news. Despite being ill, she climbed out of bed and lowered herself to her knees, clasping her hands together in prayer. She then began to pray, repeating the same prayer fourfold. ”May he rest well in the Seven Skies.” She then signed the Lorraine four times.

Ser Jonathan sighs when he sees Konrad enter the Seven Skies. ”Well, i guess not all the good ones die young, eh lad?” he utters with a wolfish grin, before holding out some Carrion Black for Konrad. ”Come now, it’s been too long, i want to know what changed since i bit the dust. Won’t ye share some news with this old fool?” the former Knight Paramount says, offering a chair to his old colleague.

Stefan Vyronov bows his head for a prayer.

“May you be welcomed in Godani’s home, of the seven skies, and with that your friends and families that you had lost in your life welcome you with open arms.”

Ser Robert Vyronov smiles seeing Ser Konrad, his father-in-law, and the man he squired under has joined him along with the others in the seven skies. “Ah, there you are father-in-law, it’s been a long time perhaps you can tell me how my wife, Isabel, is doing or has been since I had passed.”
