Dele Seregon clears her throat, stepping up to the dias. Her gait was uneven as always, but she stood tall as she turned to address those gathered within the citadel.

“A new chapter opens in the history of our people. Sohaer Maehr’tehral has resigned with grace, but has left both vacancy in our lives and in the role as our leader.

And so, with the seats of elheial’thilln filled once again, we must nominate a Sohaer, our ruler through teachings, the one who will be responsible for both the political leadership of Haelun’or with the aid of their council.”

The elfess would step back, gaze sweeping the silver hall of the citadel’s main chamber. Her final statement rang out clear.

“With that much said- Those that wish to nominate themselves to fill the vacancy, announce yourselves! Sing your competence for those here to hear! Let your kith and kin know of your capabilities to lead our Blessed Nation, preserve Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya, and  maintain silver and tradition!

Let us hear your speeches delivered and debate gracefully with your opponents.

Maehr’sae hiylun’ehya!”

Silvyr Uradir

840115053_SilvyrHeraldPose.thumb.png.b1d8e514f1f38504ba3e200f2f1fbc51.png

The Okarir’maehr Silvyr Uradir strolls out into the square, a proud yet competitive look stains his visage as he walked up the two steps by the main gate, turning to greet those in the square and give a short statement. As was usual for him, he dipped his hands into his deep robe pockets and let out a deep and prolonged sigh, without his expression waning. Shortly thereafter, the Uradir outstretched his hands to grab the attention of any mali’thill gathered in the square.

“I would like to first say, elSohaer Nelgauth Maehr’tehral was a dear friend of mine for most of my life. He has been a mentor, and much like a Maln-figure to me, ever since I first arrived here in elCihi. Since then, Nelgauth Maehr’tehral counciled Amberleigh and I before our marriage, and was even the one who gave the blessing at the wedding, and allowed my beautiful wife and I to live together as a married couple. All that said, he was a firm believer and advocate for Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. And would not want our beloved bastion to suffer in his absence. So, in the light of the Republic and Democracy, I would like to publicly endorse Anethra Uradir.”

Silvyr smiled as he looked to those gathered, though his eyes were dead serious. Soon, the Uradir’s hands would fall out of his pockets and would grip each other behind his back in a solemn and kind way. The Okarir’maehr looked at each ‘thill in the eyes, to give the impression he was speaking to each person as a single, rather than a group.

“Anethra Uradir is my Lari’onn, and was my first friend when I first came to live in elCihi over one-hundred years ago. Although the current public may not be very updated on who my dear Lari’onn is, I would like to be the first to introduce you to her. She has led the Uradir Talonnii for countless years. When I left to travel, I left the Uradir Talonnii to Silir Uradir, and Anethra alone. Silir betrayed the name, and Anethra was the one who took the position of Laurir. Well many years passed by since then, and when I returned to elCihi I was delighted to see my own Talonnii in a stronger position than ever. This was, in my opinion, due to Anethra Uradir’s leadership. But that is not the only reason why I firmly believe she is a good leader for us all, in fact there are many. For startes, Anethra has a knack for foreign relations. And has an open mind when it comes to those new to the city. She finds a use for everyone she meets, and truly cares about the well-being of people she meets, and craves their success.

She is the only person I can think of that can lead the Mali’thill forward. It is known that for the past few years our culture and people have grown stagnant. Aside from a few college classes, and snail racing, Haelun’or has not been a very exciting place, and the common theme is ‘thill not knowing what to do next. With Anethra Uradir as Sohaer, I feel strongly each person will be guided to find their calling. One that will not only be beneficial to the state, but also to each person’s happiness. Anethra Uradir has dedicated her entire life nearly to the Uradir Talonnii, and ensuring we are all healthy, happy, and thriving. She has made herself and the Talonnii in turn very wealthy, she has given us a happy home, and has led us into the state we Uradir are in now. It is without a doubt, that the progress of the Uradir Talonnii has been watched by everyone with wide eyes. And with Anethra taking care of the state the way she does the Talonnii, that same progress will soon be shared among each person in the city.

I conclude by saying there is only a single correct choice for Sohaer, and that is Anethra Uradir. She has council positions under her belt already, she has been Larurir of the strongest Talonnii in Haelunor, and has been a great friend to almost everyone who gets to know her. Be warned, the progress will come so swiftly we as a people will barely be able to blink without noticing only positive changes. A vote for Uradir this election is a vote for Experience, Purity, Health, and Stability.”

With that, the Okarir’maehr dipped his head solemnly to the crowd and made his way down the few steps. Soon, he departed to the Uradir Manor to rest and drink wine with his wife.

Eredael steps forward in a swift, sure motion. His youthful visage showed signs of his ascendance into adulthood, snowy hair flowing elegantly over his shoulders. Studying the crowd with a silver gaze he extended his right arm in oratory motion, beginning his speech. His tone was imbued with the serenity and pride of a Mali’thill, his eloquence revealing his erudition.

“Karin’ayla, citizens of the Silver Bastion and blessed children of Larihei. My name is Eredael Rhenaer, known to many of you as the Tilruir’san. I come to you first in remembrance of what the former Sohaer, the Laurir Maehr’tehral, has done for our fair country. His election begot the renewal of Haelun’orian democracy and his term saw our city further safeguarded. He re-established peace with the Empire, and saw us shielded from the Inferi scourge in his spearheading of the alliance with Azdromoth. Under his guidance Elhial’thilln has legislated effectively, and Elhieal’tuva has been afforded their proper ear. Though he retires admonishing himself as unachieved let it be forever harkened that he was kind, wise, and pragmatic in his tenure.”

The pale elf paused, his hands coming to a rest behind him, delaying a moment in insurance that his words were properly received. His eyes once more drifting over the audience he began again.

“I come before you on this auspicious evening to announce my candidacy for the office of Sohaer. For those that question my worth I beseech you only listen. I was Tilruir to the Laurir Maehr’tehral for much of my youth, some twelve years. During that time I have become well acquainted with the operations and responsibilities of political office. I have drafted legislation and debated its legitimacy. I have assisted my mallir Talia Kae’areh in the modernization of the Library. Outside of politics I have published my own academic works. I, in these actions, have proved my devotion to the endurance of the Silver State and the eternal pursuit of Elmaehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. Though I hold not centuries of aged experience I offer in exchange the passions of youth; I will not tire in seeing Haelun’or returned to its due eminence.”

Eredael took several steps from his position, surveying the crowd with hands clasped behind his back before once more raising an arm in rhetorical gesture, his speech continuing.

“I spoke prior on what the previous incumbent has done for you. Let me go on then, to lay forth what I shall do. Time fast progresses, and Haelun’or remains sempiternal. Though we should take pride in the fortitude of our State we must also look to our stagnation. We are no longer the center of academia in the world. Nor are we the wealthiest country, nor most militarily powerful, nor our lands the most fertile. Our political stability has only been recently attained; we have grown weak. What I offer unto you is the realization of your own self.”

He spread out his arms, as if motioning to the audience in its entirety, his voice rising in emotion as a song intensifying at its climax.

“You are Silver. This you must never forget. I will see this country afforded its proper form, one worthy of you, its people. As Sohaer I shall ensure our policies of education furthered and modernized. Elhieal’tuva will be properly attended, and the laws passed in my tenure will be rational, democratic, and in accordance with Larihei’s philosophy of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya. Our political positions abroad will be more finely managed, as we, blessed brothers and sisters, cannot fall victim to time and fade into obscurity, eclipsed by our lessers. Ne, we must ascend to new heights. For you are Mali’thill, and the world is your birthright. Entrust this role to me, lliran, and you shall see prosperity and prominence realized.

Kaean chul Larihei’leh myumin fiyemereyae.”

Eredael moves aback, giving a gentle bow of his head. As he returned to sit among the gathered crowd his eyes scanned for other contenders.

As I doubt it comes of surprise to anyone, there is but one Talonnii that is capable of leading the blessed bastion to prosperity. There is but one person to rise to the seat of Sohaer.” Nuala Uradir spoke out in a small gathering, taking a few breaths before she continued Anethra Uradir – She is not only a Laurir of much greatness, but a Lari’onn whom without I would not be here. She is not only doing what she can, but making sure she always gives her everything to the states.

With that note; I, Nuala Uradir shall offer my vote to my Lari’onn, Anethra Uradir.

I urge you all to giver her endorsement as well.

Ay’Uradir

The Elibar’acal would step forward, a gentle and confident smile on her face as she looked out to those gathered, adjusting her posture before speaking. “Lliran, it is with great pride that I announce my support for Eredael Rhenaer. Ever since he came to our door as an oem’ii, I knew that he would rise to greatness.” She said, her smile growing. “Since then he has accomplished much more than those his senior. Working closely with Sohaer Maehr’tehral as Tilruir’san as well as finding his own voice through his many esteemed publications. He has grown into a Thill of impeccable character and embodies Maehr’sae Huylun’ehya to a tee.” She stated. “He has the experience and knowledge to fill the role of Sohaer seamlessly.” She would then take a breath before speaking again. “Running a state is much different than running a Talonnii and Mister Rhenaer has the the proper knowledge and tools to do so. I urge you all to trust in him and allow him to re-establish our blessed state back to its former glory. Ahernan and Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya.” She said, bowing her head and retaking her seat among the crowd.

“𝓛𝓵𝓲𝓻𝓪𝓷!”

Announced the pale ‘thill, addressing the audience with a visage of cordiality, and pride.

I have learned much, since I had last ran for Elsohaer. Mister Maehr’tehral – a llir, of mine- of us all, had seen me through much. Little did I know exactly how much he would see me through. Through therapy, medical practice, and eventually- even if unintended- role modeling, as Sohaer. I will ne mask that I have looked up to Nelgauth’s decisionmaking, and his excellent stewardship in the years past- Citizen to Citizen, Okarir to Okarir.”

She trailed off, golden eyes looking downward to the floor – a paralyzing anxiety took place behind her carefully crafted guise, as she had thought much behind her calculated labyrinth. Was she, different? How? But a decade ago she was convinced everyone in the room wished her death; how could she earn their affection? Their trust? The thoughts ate away as a parasite, digging away at every inch of cognizance she clung so dearly to. Speak. Speak!

”Though we have come far, since the withering past – we still have long to go. I believe although we may wish for so – we still lack unity. Though our blessed Maheral has gone through significant strides, as with my family – Diversity is Strength. Together, we are strong, divided, weak. We must use what we have to pursue strength. Skilled commanders and pasts, to revolutionize our military, our industry, observing others and making what we can ours. Elcihi’thilln is the city upon the hill, the greatest there has been – and great we will be oncemore. We are a bastion of security, a bastion of purity for all Mali’aheral and Mali’thill, and we shall continue to be- to Thrive in Maehr’sae, to Live in Hiylun. Management and decision is what I believe is critically lacking- and what will critically succeed.

My experience is vast, with administration. Okarir’tayna, I had organized events and revitalized the tavern, even granted the scarcity the rest of the city bore. Okarir’nor, I had performed check and balance upon all Okarir – even given the sorrowful state of the city, and the withering government. My roles for Maheral Sullas- earning his and others trust, and bringing securty; peace, to those within our blessed walls. As Laurir, ever since my brothers .. horrific, death, I have seen my family revived, revitalized, given breath of life oncemore. Not out of name – nor prestige – because it was Right. For my Lliran, for my People – for my Talonnii. Together, lliran, we will see breath given life oncemore. Magic, knowledge, progress, prosperity – I will see to it we get no less within our silver walls. Light shines upon us, divine with opportunities we are granted as a people; these will be used to advance us all, and bring us a name of respect, and understanding, oncemore.

Many can attest to the Meetings in which I invite family and those closeby, and we sort things. I believe a similar structure could, and should, work for councilmeetings. Very effectively have I gotten results; Teamwork is the greatest, we could ask for. I know what it is like to be alone. Afraid, without anyone- no lliran, no Talonii, no ’thill. Together, I am- and will always be behind you, Lliran!”

The ‘thill exited the last thought with a triumph, seeming proud. In the moments blur, her confidence rescinded to thought oncemore. Was she prepared? Would she be?  She considered in a moments huff, accepting finality-

Yes.
