Lords and Ladies of the Imperial Court, c. 1809

Her Imperial Highness The Countess of Renzfeld does wish to announce the inaugural Apodeictic Dressmakers Competition, an opportunity for tailors of the Empire to submit and showcase their finest work. The quality of garments within Imperial society has continued to rise, and has seen a particular cultural shift into modern concepts throughout the reign of HIM Anne I and HIM Joseph II.

Therefore, The Countess of Renzfeld sees it fit that an Empire-wide contest be held, including both male and female attire. All entires shall follow the general theme of current Orenian trends, with a particular focus upon the presence of hats and corsets for women, and tailcoats for men.

A brief overview of Orenian Fashion is described here, within Ms Vespira Angelica's publication "Fashion of the Imperial Court" (See here). Entires shall be judged upon their creativity, execution, and how well they fit within Oren's current cultural ideals.

The panel of judges include HIH The Countess of Renzfeld, Lady Helena Augusta Basrid, and Lady Milena Carrion.

The prizes shall be as follows:

FIRST PLACE: 100 Mina, as well as the title of "Orens Premiere Seamstress/Seamster"

SECOND PLACE: 75 Mina

THIRD PLACE:  25 Mina

DEADLINE is in 2 weeks (Tuesday 16th March).

SIGNED,

HIH The Countess of Renzfeld

Natalia promptly snatches the parchment from her younger sister, her manic eyes moving over the parchment before she moved to flip the paper over, the woman scribbling a few quick notes on the back before returning it to Emerentia "Get this to Florence, we'll need new fabric."

Darius Dy’Squith would skim through the parchment, disapprovingly rolling his eyes at the sight of the 1809 fashion plate. He crumples the paper into a tight ball, tossing it onto the floor. Sack back dresses? Is this the best they could come up with? Sack back dresses? What is this, the 1790’s?”

The Lady of Cathalon uses the contest as a much needed distraction, ordering a number of rolls of silk to be imported from distant lands. The Duchess-Dowager immersed herself in design, finding great relief in the creative process.

Anne Caroline tailors away - not much caring what what is considered 'in fashion'.
