Edith Hope Returns

We today living in Providence have in our generation fought harder, paid a price for freedom and done more to advance the dignity of man than any people than many in the last hundred years.

In our world today we face a crisis and that is a crisis in humanity’s most sacred thing, our religion. Everyday people doubt that there is a God or that Canonism is true. What we need to do in Oren to combat this spread is to create Canonist teachings in our governmental structure such, opening and closing legislative sessions with a prayer that God will work within that meeting. My plan for the city assembly will involve opening each session of the City Assembly meetings with prayer and closing it with prayer so that we will have God among us during the troubling times of votes on the Assembly floor. In my previous three terms on the City Assembly we did this several times and the sessions proceeded smoothly without flaw. So I believe this practice should be revived once again.

We must do everything in our power to teach the next generation about our sacred beliefs that there is only one God, the God of the Holy scrolls. Because if we lose sight of our religion, what is left in Oren? Nothing but a godless society in which any moral-less act can be carried out in the spiritual darkness. But with God in our government and our hearts, we will be able to be a flourishing city under One God once again. But this is only if we can revive the Canonist spirit, the Orenian spirit that lay inside each one of us.

Because if we continue down this path of selfish godless desires we will no longer have a Holy City that God provided us with to live in and spread his word from. So we must teach our young about God in this dark time in our city history. We must light the way for future generations to follow us with a lamp in our hands to guide them. Our chance is now in this moment to change this great city for a better brighter Godly future. What this city hungers for is a spiritual revival, with God's blessing we shall bring this revival to the forefront of issues in Providence! The future is ours for the making depending on what you do at this moment. Will you let the light of God fade away or will you once more take part in God's ways teaching your children about him and his ways? This alone is your choice to make. A troubled Humanity looks to the people, pleading for the people to do something; that will uphold the principles of self-reliance, self-discipline, morals, and above all liberty for every being in Providence.

In my previous terms in this office I passed the Orphan Act, advocated for lower taxes, worked for efforts to be made on a homeless shelter, and worked for more benefits for the veterans of the state. If I’m elected once again I will continue my work right where I left off, by helping you build and holding weekly town halls in my business so that you may meet your representative in the City Assembly.

I therefore will be running for the Assembly once again.

I thank you and God Bless Providence!

"Grandpapej, prepare the cannon, we are going hunting." He chuckled faintly, as the young Othaman spoke to himself, after reading the post he would be looking at the cannon pointed at the wall between his and Erik Tarcells Room in the Othaman estate "At least she isn't trying to do anything with the House of Commons."

Constantine the by now middle-aged ascetic who had lived in self-exile in the woods of which there was abundance in Almaris read what was written down on his travels with a frown; penning his own letter in response. "You mistakingly believe Providence to be a holy city when in fact it is full of  debauchery and prelest: that is man's assimilation of falsehood which he accepts as truth - albeit true that the Emperor is ordained by GOD for the good and godly ordering of governmental affairs and ideally as God-ordained earthly authority should work in harmony and symphony with the Church it is also true that to have a true, just and lasting earthly government such should be founded upon the bedrock and eternal principles of the Holy Mother Church as revealed by GOD. Neither of this be the case, the Emperor has long since shifted away from true obedience to GOD towards nothing more than lip service when it suits him best and the government has long since failed to uphold the principles ordained by our Heavenly King, for which I have no doubt, it is now ultimately punished with this supposed holy war. Religiously absent authorities such as these arise in part because people actively seek not to be ruled by GOD, instead trusting on their own reasoning and relying on their own selfish desires - pulling themselves towards their own doom by deriving themselves of His guidance. Call men to repentance and confession, not political change, for they have called this unto themselves by shedding the blood of clergymen and their own kin in the past and by actively pursuing the overthrow of throne and altar - mere prayer will not save those who have hardened their hearts. True change should start with the faithful."

Valent would laugh upon hearing about Edith's letter of return to the stage of politics. "Are we once again accepting Clowns as politicians?"
