To the honorable Lords of Our Realm, 

 

It is our prerogative to speak now, after so very long. Forty years ago, give or take, we were born to a great dynasty - cemented in its union between two persons of GOD and their blessed offspring. We were tutored in the importance of togetherness - of Providence - and enlightenment under the watchful eyes of GOD. Raised amongst the highest scholars, lords, and clergymen in the land, we too understand the importance of tradition. Tradition represents the foundation upon which our great nation flourishes - what bolsters it and what has historically maintained its grandiosity. 

 

We too, as the morganatic daughters of Imperial scions, know that there is an unspoken truth amongst the populace that has not been openly reiterated within the Petran courts until recently: Progress does not damage the foundations of society; it strengthens it. It is a blooming array of flowers and greenery upon an already fertile field; the meat upon strong bones. We have gained this insight through our interactions with the world - Victoria through her pilgrimages and I through my faith. Nonetheless, you are entitled to your private opinion as we are ours. It is our duty to represent the ideals of our nation and as members of its ruling house, one founded upon ideals of modernity, we cannot exhibit biases that go against the interests of its people unless we desire outcry that could prove fatal to the work of our predecessors.

 

We plead with you now as fellow Orenians and not as her ladies; too, as her subjects and your sisters in our shared mission, and not as her daughters. Do not allow the voice of our mother to be silenced for when you silence her, you silence her supporters; you silence the very people you swore to justly protect beneath the scrutiny of GOD and Emperor. You silence her memory, you silence your upbringing and the women in your life, not all of whom are as frivolous as you may think but instead righteous women capable of safeguarding Oren’s interests as all mothers and sisters are prone to do. You silence our grandfather, Emperor Joseph II, and our grandmother, Empress Anne I, who raised our mother with a progressive approach to life that would guide her to where she is now - the establishment of her philosophical magnum opus. The will of our legal peers will be enough to soothe the storm. If the people ask for justice on behalf of their families - their mothers, sisters, and daughters - then give it to them. Let GOD decide the fate of the Rosemoor bill but do not forget, our lords, that a nation is only as close to GOD and glory as the men who encompass it and, for better or worse, Oren's men seek to break the shackles of tradition. Its nobility must follow suit should it wish to survive modernity.
