The newly ordained Father Philip

“In the name of Godan...” the Viscount proclaimed and closed his eyes, signing the cross. Once his eyes were opened the man proceeded to rush towards the stables, found at Provins, and rode to Providence. The scenery had taken his breath as always, but the man moved forward as he remembered his mission. The gates of the capital stood open, awaiting him. The Pruvia jumped from the horse onto the ground, taking the leashes of the animal into his right hand. He would march slowly towards the Basilica, glancing at the buildings of the bustling city. Before entering the holy building he tied the horse onto a tree. The man spent an hour inside before he left back for his home. He locked himself in his office until a few dozen letters were completed and sent to their receivers. A long day it was, but the sun leisurely faded and the moon rose on its place."

"I abdicate my title 'Viscount of Provins' to my eldest daughter Amadie Marléne Pruvia, due to her age I declare my wife Claude Élisabeth Ashford de Savoie as her Regent until she reaches the age of sixteen. I resign my position as Director of the Coterie to my wife Claude Élisabeth Ashford de Savoie. I resign as Ensign in the Imperial State Army. I resign all my offices and positions held in the Holy Orenian Empire."

Signed, Fr. Philip Pruvia

Claude awoke that morning with a sting upon the heart, the sound of bewildered maids rushing about the Preussens and towards the new Viscountess' room being a macabre reality to the timorous mother's stomach. How was she to manage a daughter who was meant to manage herself?

Pushing her fret within the gut, Claude creeped from her bed and towards her daughter's chambers, their eyes meeting - softening.

"Your piano tutor awaits you, ma belle." She reminded, as she did every morning before now, and for all the mornings to follow.

Casper Cardinal Providentia followed his newly ordained nephew with his gaze as he left the Basilica. The Cardinal signed the Lorraine Cross and uttered: "Leave the Basilica as a man of the cloth and be a shepherd of the faith! Walk with GOD, dear Philip, walk with GOD!" The aging Metropolitan then had a seat at the pews and proceeded to pray: "Grant unto Thy servant, O Lord, forgiveness of his sins, consolation in life, and continual guidance: that serving Thee, he may always deserve to attain to Thy mercy. Amen."

Holy Sir Philip Hughes de Rosius chuckled. "Not just a man of GOD has entered the clergy but your own nephew Grandpapa - I do hope Lord Pruvia still gets to be sent on missions with the Order; it was fun company with him. - May GOD provide for you, Father Philip." He signed the Lorraine in the Basilica of Providentia, saying a prayer for the newly ordained Father in the Church.

Once Amadie Marléne awoke, her favorite maid come into her room, placing the piles of letters and parchments onto her desk in a neat bundle. She went to read them above all else, though on top was “Pruvian Abdication.”

Her eyes grew wide with her father’s departure, and even without a word from him she wondered where she had gone. Her eyes pricked with tears, and she burst through her door to find her Papa. She ran through the halls in her night gown, until she ran into her mother.
Where is Papa?”
Claude simply reminded the girl of her piano lessons, though the face on the two Preussens residents were similar - worriment and concern. Amadie knew nothing of her role as Viscountess, yet she knew it was time to learn.

Lieutenant Ezekiel Moores raises a brow as he reads over the former Ensign's resignation.

"Huh," The soldier remarks, before setting the letter on his Captain's desk, not to much surprise. "I suppose that explains the absence of recent."

Anne Caroline awoke to the news and could feel naught but disappointment for her oldest son. She continued throughout the day with a grimace 'pon her face, unable to hide how shattered she felt by this abdication. "I did this for you, and you threw it away," she would write in her diary the very same day.

Within a small room a man sat, cigar betwixt his finger as he celebrated such a joyous occasion within an early sunrise.

"Rejoice, my son, for you have abandoned all temporal machinations for the light of scripture. Celebrate, just as St. Jude resigned his office to Daniel I to take the loin cloth of a monastic. By pursuing scripture, you will realize your place in this world just as I have mine, and absolve all treachery. As a priest to another, this is all I can wish you."

With that, he pondered to usher gifts towards the new Viscountess, be that by hand or courier.

Sophie Clémentine of Provins sat upon a balcony within her room. Knowing not of the meaning of such a thing she only thought of the abdication and inheritance of her sister's birthright as ownership of the house she was soon to depart from the next morn. "You can't have my room!" shouts the girl as she moves to the painting in her room that opens to her sister's. "I want it." she knocks on the dresser that the painting opened up to thrice, each knock growing in impatience for her sister's response. Little did the young Provins girl know her sister had taken the abdication much more seriously than the red-haired youth.
