6th of Horen's Calling, 1846

For the last several years, HIH Catherine Anastasia, the eldest child of the late Duke of Furnestock, has endeavored to sketch and subsequently paint a variety of scenes depicting the everyday lives of the people of Oren.

From the most majestic balls and galas of the latest social season to more personal scenes depicting a deeper meaning within, this gifted youth has sought to capture the vibrant and dynamic nature so characteristic of the Holy Orenian Empire.

In her first ever display to the public, Sir Henry Penton and Princess Catherine will be auctioning off SEVEN of her most esteemed works at the Le Fleur Theater in Providence! Each work has been painstakingly crafted with the finest detail, made not only with beauty but with spirit as well.

Anyone, from any walk of life, will be able to bid on HIH’s work, and own a little piece of culture for themselves. Furthermore, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the national government to assist in initiatives to improve civil aesthetics throughout the Empire.

CATHERINE’S PORTFOLIO:

(NOTE: All bids will begin at 150 marks per art piece. All bids must be cast in person at the auction, or via a proxy. Example pieces are watermarked to prevent unauthorized replication. Replication for commercial use is impermissible without the artist’s approval.)

“Based off of a sketch that I drew when I first came to Providence, it depicts a conversation between an imperial prince and a beggar. The latter, clad in but a ragged tunic, sits beneath a tavern of the prince’s same name. In the background, an ISA soldier watches the duo, looking to the prince for moral guidance as he addresses the unfortunate man. Filled with deep meaning, this is unquestionably one of my proudest works to date.”

“In the same vein as my first work, this scene depicts a pair of ISA soldiers merrily conversing on a warm summer’s day. It is an ode to the brave men and women who protect the Holy Orenian Empire from monsters, bandits, and criminals on a daily basis.”

“I drew the initial sketch for this painting during the premiere of this most recent Social Season. Part and parcel to the lives of the Orenian nobility, I felt such vibrancy and dynamic energy in that room as the ladies and gentlemen of the season interacted. Something compelled me to capture this moment, which I hope now to share with the people of Oren.”

“This painting depicts two sisters, one a very young child and another a grown woman, conversing in front of a fireplace. The elder of the two is assisting the younger in tying the strings of her hat around her chin, a loving gesture between siblings and a powerful scene indeed.”

“When I was very young, I witnessed this scene. Though I didn't quite understand what was transpiring, this painting depicts the horror of that night as those guests in attendance realized that we might not be alone…”

PAINTING #6: “A Seasonal Soiree”

“This painting is based off of a sketch that I drew during a seasonal soiree at Cathalon Hall. Everyone in attendance that night was inexplicably wearing strange, festive hats, a tradition associated with a holiday that some denote as ‘Knoxoween’. Though smaller than my previous ‘Gala’ painting, it still exudes a warm and cozy feeling associated with the countryside.”

PAINTING #7: “The Harpist”

“During that same ongoing ball at Cathalon, I took another opportunity to make another sketch, of which this painting is based. The harp is a beautiful instrument, able to exude majestic cords that can soothe the soul of any individual. This painting is a reminder of the power of music, and an ode to the many musicians found within our Empire.”
