Invitation to Areniscan Bullfighting

AN INVITATION TO ALL OF ALMARIS

Issued this Third of the Grand Harvest, year Fifty one of the Second Age

It is with great pleasure that we, the de Pelear family, do invite all inhabitants of Almaris to travel to the Barony of Arenisca to partake in a Hyspian tradition that has been practiced throughout the ages by men old and young. The Bullfight is a tradition that was established during the reign of King Cesar de Rivera, yet came to prominence during the Hyspian Schism and was particularly popular among the Canonist Hyspians. In such a tradition, there are of course procedures as to how a Bullfight shall commence and be organized. 

 

Matadors shall be provided with a traditional Areniscan Rapier, two lances, and a red cloak

The Bull will be given reaction-enhancing substances to slow the Bull's maneuverability

The Matador and Bull will be placed on opposite sides of the designated area for the Bullfighting to commence

The Matador shall attempt to spear the Bull in the back with his two lances whilst dodging the Bull's charges

Once all lances have been spent, the Matador shall draw his Rapier and attempt to pierce the Bull's heart or skull

 

Each Matador who partakes in the bullfighting event shall be timed based on how long it takes for them to finish their Bull. The Matador who takes the least amount of time to finish their bull shall be declared the winner of the event. Said winner will be granted a prize of 100 Mina and styled the Bullslayer of Arenisca.

 

Should injury occur to any partaking Matador during the event, the occurring Bullfight will be halted immediately. The Bull will be immediately subdued, the Matador will be retrieved for medical care, and the arena will be cleared. Due to the nature of Bullfighting, it is highly advised that no Pregnant women, Elderly, Physically disabled, or Children below the age of 15 partake in this event.
