A Call to Aspirants

 

Issued and confirmed by His Excellency the Grand Knight, Sir Ulrich Lothar von Alstreim, on the 9th of Sigismund’s End, 1854.

 

 

HEAR ALL YE HEROES OF SAVOY

 

It is the express will and desire of His Serene Highness, mindful of the ever deteriorating political situation gripping the Northern lands, to further empower the Order of the Argent Sun in its calling as the foremost chivalric assembly of the Realm. For this reason, by order of the Grand Knight, the following restrictions are lifted, effective immediately:

 

I

All requirements pertaining to an aspirant’s gender or race are hereby waived. Women and non-humans are now eligible for unrestricted service in the Order. All aspirants must still profess the Canonist faith.

 

II

A tenure of squirehood or a Princely writ shall no longer be considered the sole means of attaining membership in the Order. Non-squire aspirants are hereby allowed to directly petition the Order for a consideration of knighthood. The following limitations shall apply to all non-squire aspirants:

• All non-squire aspirants must have a tenure of at least five years of active service in the armed forces of Savoy, be it the Argent Legion or a provincial vassal regiment, proven by military records or their liege lord’s or officer’s commendation;
• All non-squire aspirants must have been of sixteen years of age or above at the time of this announcement, or have otherwise been prevented to seek a tenure of squirehood;
• All non-squire aspirants shall be limited to the rank of Knight-Errant upon admission, unless otherwise declared by a Princely writ.

  

III

The duty and privilege of all Knights of the Realm to serve as magistrates and lawman’s deputies for the purpose of the enforcement of the Lex Savoia is hereby reaffirmed.

 

Furthermore, all extant members of the Order are hereby obliged to partake in the Order’s knightly census. All knightly circles within the Order are hereby disbanded and must be reestablished through petition. All necessary forms pertaining to this decree shall be appended below.
