Hermit_Jack 538 Share Posted March 4, 2022 Spoiler [!]An intricate drawing of the Wayward Hermit’s Banner tops a pamphlet that is placed on all notice boards in Groves and handed out freely across the Druids. It depicts a hermit crab overlooking a circle of neutrality. "Balance, Freedom, Growth" “We are all united under a common goal and duty: to protect the Balance. The bureaucracy of any Circle should not limit one’s potential or ability to teach. We should all have a chance and an impartial place to stand united.” - Minto, the Otter Druid "The gift is like the life around us. It grows, it shapes, it adapts. Without freedom to express itself, it becomes lazy and devolves to uselessness." - Kese, the Birch Druid It is with these words during a happenstance encounter that a new goal was formed. Minto and Kese, the Otter Druid and Birch Druid respectively, came together to form a guild with these values in mind: The Wayward Hermits. And so a logo was created for the guild, one that symbolizes the tenants that it holds. In the center and most importantly, a circle with arrows pointing in all directions. A symbol of both the natural cycles of nature and neutrality the guild holds, with each arrow pointing to one of the many paths one may take. A hermit crab overlooks this, a representation and invitation of the home that the Guild offers for everyone, just as a Hermit Crab always carries their own home on their back. With this comes the name of the guild. While “Hermit” refers to the Hermit Crab that is also represented in the logo, the inclusion of “Wayward” comes with a rich history. Wayward is firstly an acknowledgement of those Druids who scour the lands Circleless, or chose to forge their own paths. There is also the Wayward Druid, Respiren, whose ability to unite Druids of old impacts all Druids to this day. It was long ago now that the Wayward Druid saw a need for the beginning of a new Druidic Order. A means to come together and unite the Druids. The hierarchy that he founded has become restrictive over time, leading to bureaucracy and cliques that have stunted Druids from growth and kept them from reaching their full potential. Different Circles have also popped up over time, leading to different views and customs. The Wayward Hermits Guild has now appeared to be a common ground. The Wayward Hermits seek to embolden all Circles and Druids in the areas that they lack, encouraging diversity and knowledge. The Wayward Hermits is a Druidic Guild with a heavy emphasis on neutrality, teaching, and spreading Druidism and its gifts. We aim to bypass the bureaucracy of Circles, providing tools and a support system outside of any Circles to spread Druidism at a faster pace than ever before. It’s all too common for Druids or Dedicants to be left alone without a guide, leaving gaps in their knowledge of the gifts or stranded without a teacher. There are also those that do not feel at home within any particular Circle. We openly take in these Druids and Dedicants, acting as a safety net and giving them options outside of the standard norms or Circles. Teachers are free to teach in their own style without any restrictions so long as they agree to be united under a common goal and duty to preserve the Balance. Those with the ability to teach, but without the knowledge of Attunement, will be paired with a Teacher to oversee the first Dedicant that they take. Most Dedicants within the Wayward Hermits are considered Circleless, though they are more than welcome to spend time in any Grove or Circle that they choose. A Teacher within The Wayward Hermits, if also being a Guide within a Circle, has the choice to take that Dedicant through the Circle they choose. Once attuned, Dedicants are given several different options. They may choose to leave The Wayward Hermits, pursue their own path or join any circle they wish, or they may decide to work towards becoming a Teacher within The Wayward Hermits. 1. The extent of our ranks includes Teachers, Druids, and Dedicants. Noone ranks above another, and all decisions that impact the Guild must be unanimously made between all Teachers. 2. Teaching is prioritized, and we seek to give a support system to Teachers. Druids with the ability to teach are expected to openly help other Teachers and Druids, or take on Dedicants. Gifts are shared and taught freely to those who dedicate themselves and their time. 3. The Wayward Hermits are neutral, Circleless, and open to any Druid despite their history or views. The only exception being those who are found to have abused their gifts. Druids within the Guild are free to be a part of any Circles they wish, or be Circleless themselves. We are openly taking in Seekers, Dedicants, Druids, and Druid Teachers no matter how advanced they are in their knowledge of Druidism or the gifts. Send a bird to Minto [[IGN: Hermit_Jack, Hermit Jack#5398, or on the forums.]] or Kese [[IGN: Lustbone, DickTheImpaler#0630]] Seekers and Dedicants will be given an interview to assess their knowledge and find a compatible teacher. Seekers may be denied, and Dedicants may be dropped at a Teacher’s discretion. We are welcoming to all, but there are no guarantees. Druids who have fallen through the cracks, are missing a teacher, or need gaps of some gifts filled are more than welcome to reach out. Even if it’s just a single gift, a willing teacher will be found for you to share this knowledge. Druid Teachers are those that wish to teach or already have the ability to teach. Druids in all stages of their journey will be provided resources and a support system for them to take in Dedicants or share gifts with others. If you are a Druid with a dream and passion to teach, but your place with a Circle hinders you or you lack support to teach, reach out to us. Druids will be more numerous than ever.

Supah 334 Share Posted March 4, 2022 "Better to just go circleless and teach I'd think, but I wish them all the best in bringing like minded folk to the aid of the Balance.." a mud elf sighs, tucking the missive away.
Your Favorite Impure 736 Share Posted March 4, 2022 Aenor idly scratches his beard as such news reaches him "If anything this will only serve to further spread out druids, and not in the best of ways. Most organizations that claim neutrality rarely stay that way. But then again I am no druid, so what do I know?" Spoiler

ThumperJack 927 Share Posted March 5, 2022 The Iron Druid pauses as he receives word about this guild of druids, his blind and good eyes both scanning the information before releasing a great, LOUD laugh, "HA! Carson 1165 Share Posted March 5, 2022 An ex-druid considers that if this circle had existed in her time, she wouldn't have sought to leave druidism. Oh well. She had better things on her plate. "Let those sanctimonious cliques burn. Minto will be spared when the time comes for payment in blood." Spoiler i for one support this, but i anticipate you might be getting some flack from the powers that be. don't let it discourage you though.

TwistedFries 550 Share Posted March 5, 2022 The Kestrel Druid received one of the missives as he smirked whilst reading it. He'd then say, "Good for them. I'm glad more options are becoming available for those who wish to walk this path. Though, I'm afraid that some conflict may break out. I just want unity amongst our kin, or at last something that brings us together. Let out future be bright."
