MissToni 3487 Share Posted August 20, 2022 Funeral of High Pontiff Tylos III [!] A painting of Tylos III’s horse feasting on some grass [20th August, Saturday, 3pm EST] It is with heavy heart that we extend this invitation to all canonists of Almaris to say farewell to His Holiness, Tylos III, the High Pontiff of the Church of the Canon. A pilgrimage shall be held in his honour after the funeral and the election of a new pontiff has been held, as was given to the previous Pontiff as well. Funeral Ceremony - Saturday 3pm EST The funeral ceremony in Reinmar shall be held by Her Eminence Katerina Cardinal Jorenus in the Cathedral of St. Tylos. Friends and family are welcomed to say a few words after the ceremony before the pyre. Once the pyre burning has been done, flowers and other gifts may be decorated onto the crypt where his ashes shall be laid. Release of the Steed To honour his birth as a Barclay an old tradition, yet no longer common, of Waldenian funerals shall be held. The custom is to release his loyal steed to the wilds and let it roam free amongst the other wild horses to symbolize that their duty to their companion has come to an end. Pilgrimage - Monday 3pm EST The pilgrimage shall begin in Reinmar where Tylos III was born, some opening words shall be spoken and flowers placed before heading to the next stop which is what was previously known as Oren. Then onto Balian and the final stop back in Haense once more in their city Karosgrad.
