RUNNING CRIMSON ON GOLDEN FIELDS

Report by Baron Wolfgang de Vilain

17th of Harren’s Folly, 1895

Last Saints Day, Acre experienced an attack by raiders from the Kingdom of Aaun which was handily thwarted by our farmers. These malign raiders skulked about devilishly, yet their moves were slow and unguided, as though the hand was withered. The farmers caught these war criminals who had intended to spoil the crop after a short fray in which one such man was caught by the name of ‘Ser Gawain’ with a signature of the Lost Lord Alstion upon his person. After removing his helmet, it was discovered he was none other than a Darkspawn – a rotten, smelling creature wrought of the parts and ligaments of a dead man. An undead with peeling skin and brittle bones. To further this claim, Aurum was used on the Darkspawn, to which it reacted strongly. We earnestly call upon the Church of Canon’s compassion, so that the High Pontiff may inquire into the nature of his Nauzicans, seeing to it that they submit to aurum tests to verify their nature as human men.

Signed,

Wolfgang de Vilain, Baron of Acre

Colton would look on in horror as he read the missive, having been out of Acre on a fishing trip. "Darkspawn? Seems as though Charles the Corrupt has earned himself a new nickname! Better test him as well."

Ottomar von Alstreim frowned upon reading the missive, his gaze drifting off in the direction of his icon of Blessed Jude II. He reminisced about a prayer made to the blessed man some time ago.

Wilfred of Acre continues to patrol, now with aurum weaponry on his person at all times! "I always knew Charles were corrupt, didn't think they'd work with darkspawn though." He'd grumble as his horse trotted through the well-worn pathways.

"They found a dead body with a convenient identification bearing His Majesty's seal?" Calliope Renata asked of her nephew while she perused her old testing logs, listing not a single Acrean name. "At least they didn't find the blueprints of Aaun's Weapons of Magic Destruction, or those twenty thousand dead Acreans he had buried in his backyard."

The Bastard of Grodno, Jan sips his tea as he looks out of a window in his Petran manor "Why can't we just live in peace..." The young Lechian shook his head

Ser Gawain frowns at the lies of the Acrean lord, knowing for a fact he never carried such signature or seal of Charles Alstion or the Nauzican.
