itdontmatta 3950 Popular Post Share Posted November 6, 2022 Hi everyone, The safety of every player in the LotC and Minecraft communities is important to me, as it is for every administrator. In our team’s past, we’ve struggled to build a policy on this matter and given the sensitive nature of these reports we’ve always kept our procedure internal. It has evolved over time, and we feel now that it is time to share it with you. We can do better—exposé posts about inappropriate relationships between players should not force our hand to enact a ban, we need to be proactive and transparent about this process. Critically, victims need to know that they are safe to come forward with a commitment to confidentiality, and without repercussions. Starting today, we are publicizing our safety policy to address our processes, and allow for transparency but also criticism. Our safety policy aims to shed light, provide support, and answer questions that have been left open-ended and unanswered for too long. https://lordofthecraft.net/safety/ This policy provides guidance on how to handle safety violations and protect this community. We also include various concepts that we feel are important to learn and understand in the context of LotC and the internet, including links to external resources for education and victim assistance. It is thanks to the efforts and contributions of members of the community that we can now have this safety policy. There is never a “final” copy—the policy is a living document tailored to our community, instead we want to revise and improve it over time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to any member of the administration to share your thoughts on this policy. We want to hear from you, if you have something to say then we want to hear it. Thank you, Alex, and the LotC Administration

TreeSmoothie 3039 Share Posted November 6, 2022 the safety team... Gave the page a read, and honestly, it's great it's there now. Should have been there much earlier, but something's better than nothing, I can only hope that this might prevent grooming from happening as much as it does currently.

Crevel 3820 Share Posted November 6, 2022 An important step in harbouring a safer community. It is good to see the policies publicised, and hopefully it should encourage future victims to come out without fear of an unpredictable process. Good job, Administration.
