EDIT ~ ATTENTION

While nothing is for certain, as many have opinions and reasons, plus if we were just to pick randomly we can potentially anger the entire playerbase. What I am talking about is whether or not people will keep their possessions and money. I will give you my opinion, since I can't speak for others, note this is solely my opinion, this is most definitely not the final decision.

If I had my way, people would start from scratch. Tabula rasa. Nothing. Nada.

Why? It's a Role-Playing server, not a surviaval server. th intention is to RP and build a character, not gather the most lootz.

Couldn't agree more.

I agree, and also believe the player base should start from scratch. Allowing players to carry over their inventory and money would take away from the awe of a new world/continent and the lore that comes with it, and IMO, all that would happen would be players would move into their new capital and carry on with their business much like they were before. Having 500 diamond blocks and 100,000 minas isn't very conducive to fostering the feel of a new world, and as someone pointed out, super-inflate the new economy.

So, the new world is going to be generated with 'generate structures' OFF, right? We definitely don't want NPC villages.

Of course, this will also mean no dungeons, strongholds and mineshafts. I think this is good. It'll be so much better if the players/GMs get to create all of these themselves, with actual lore attached to each one rather than generic random stuff.

However, that means no mob-spawners on the new world. Will some precautions be taken for people bringing mined mob spawners into the new area? Mob spawners are obviously the epitome of grinding, and if some people would get the limited avalibility they'd be greatly rewarded for grinding, something we obviously don't want.

Of course, if there's going to be a restart with the new world that won't be a problem. I personally hope for no restart, though.

But even so, PLEASE!! don't make Minas transfer but items not. It will make the last weeks of playing on the old world an absolute nightmare with everybody hoarding their Minas (already we had a taste of the panic when Vaquixine made an unfortunately worded post), AND it will cause MASSIVE inflation on the new world (what good is money if nobody has stuff you can buy with them?)

I have already decided that my character will not migrate to the new continent(if the option to do so was ever validated). I will be leaving behind everything including my Items, homes and ALL my minas. I am just wondering what method would I go about clearing my minas pool? Send it all to Availer? To a GM? I do not know. But for now I will live as conservatively as I always have.

I am really quite glad that this post was made, as it gives the regular players an indication on the direction the GM's and the rest of the staff want the new continent to take.

I thing players should keem some of their items or money, not all of it, but just some of it.

Also, solely MY opinion (which means even less cause I'm not staff) is that on a materials reset, everybody will be too busy hunting mobs en masse the first days to regather materials to get the first minas, and thus the best homes. There'll be massive runs on the first pumpkins, the first diamonds, first portals to the ender (if they exist). I personally don't see great RP forming from this.

Basically, it's a huge break in RP. Merchant chains and nobility will be equalized with everyone else, forcing them to act very contradictory to their character in the first days, ruining their established character.

The way wealth is divided now has greatly defined RP relations, and RP relations define the progress of lord of the craft. Besides, a lot of veterans who stuck with the server for a long time will be upset, as well as this major apathy during the last few days (and wealth-based RP freezing because 'whats the point'?)

Unfortunately, that is probably what would end up happening, and it would be a huge mess, but why should it? I'm fairly positive that everyone didn't create character bio's that involve immense greed and the need for a gigantic home. I'm a goblin, and i enjoy shiny things, but what use does my character have for a massive home with 6 bedrooms and diamond floors? Why/how would a grunt in a nation's guard/army be living in a house that you would see a noble living in? IMO if people played around a more rp-realistic setting this wouldn't be a problem, but there is still the issue of separating nobility i suppose.

*This is all just my opinion, and not aimed at anyone or anything in particular, just an observation

If we're loosing all our items the least I want is to get my 20k minas back (Diamond VIP)... Otherwise you should take away that donation bonus, seeing as you'll take away the 20k minas from older VIPs while the new ones will get it.

Anyone get what I'm talking about?

In my opinion, everything should be gone. I have alot of valuables but I look forward for a new start. At a new start EVERYBODY has the same chances and noone has any advantages. We really need something like that, because then alot MORE of trading would start. Everyone would wanted to trade Iron for example and stuff like that...it would get the whole iconomy freshly started and give it a new blow, like when stats came out. And noone could mine Iron for a while :P

Greetings

I SINCERELY disagree with everything being destroyed. We have worked for months on creating Aegis, and do not want to lose it all in the new world. It would be horrible, in my opinion.

But the people that have donated to the server should get their money.

Perhaps players can take only ONE inventory of items over to the new world? This will force players to choose- Will they need those couple stacks of pretty moss stone or a little bit more bread to help them out in the first few days of the world?
