On the 16th day of Sigismund’s End of 1923

“And Ishtar calls forth three deceivers in the guise of servants, and their wings are of obscuring smoke. They are called Famine, and Toil, and Defeat. And before the commoners, the first condemns temperance, and gluttony is exalted. And the second condemns diligence, and sloth is exalted. And the last condemns faith, and doubt is exalted. So the world is a pit of suffering. But there are yet faithful.”

~Ex. Sigismund Carrion

In recent years, one could be forgiven for forgetting to stop and take a moment to enjoy the simpler pleasures life bears. Throughout war and impending doom, the graces of life can fall by the wayside. It is important to declare when a joyous occasion is at hand, especially so in turbulent times, so that we might remember Godani jest Weizki.

For the past four years, Markus Marie Sarkozic has been on a quest across the lands. His work and diligence, a bastion of Adrian principles in these troubled times. He has endeavored to remember virtue and joy in spite of the multitude of perversions. Thus he has chosen to extend his hand to his beloved, Oksana Marusya Ivanovich, to join him in completing the noble work of restoring Raevir-Carrion culture in Adria.

For their unbreakable bond has flourished greatly over these past years, and they rejoice in announcing their forthcoming marriage, to be held after the war's end.

The couple beckons the folk of Adria and companions of the pair to a grand revelry within the Castle Emalinhrad of Veletzia, a celebration of their love's betrothal, with merriment aplenty and celebration of their shared Raevir roots for all to join.

… Courier sent letters of invitation to the following;

His Grace, John II, Duke of Adria, and his host

The People of Adria and its Heartlands

The Grand Librarian of Balian, Sarson and one street beggar of his choice

[May 12th @ 5 EST]

Signed;

 The Right Honorable, Markus Marie Sarkozic,

Count of Aldersberg

Miss Oksana Marusya Ivanovich

A certain young Ivanovich lord reads the missive with a confused blink. He then shows the missive to his father, "Papej...Y niet heard of Oksana Marusya Ivanovich...ever...who jest?" (@Optimus420)

Oksana's fingers traced the parchment's edges as she read the missive, her expression fraught with apprehension. The weight of her new station loomed over her, suffocating her dreams of simplicity. Expectations that surpassed her current peasant life now awaited her, making her uncertain of her feelings about the future that lay ahead. Would she be able to bear the weight of the pedestal upon which she was to be placed? Though the path ahead wasn't clear, she had two things to guide her forward. Her newfound betrothal, and her unshakeable Faith.

It would be late in the evening when the Princess Royal would receive the invitation, expressions of surprise and confusion crossing over the Novellen’s features. Quickly, Elena would pocket the parchment, assuring no one in the Monterosa Palace had seen the identifiable seal. . .

The young lord glanced upon the parchment. Tossing it aside briefly after he noticed the title “Vy have but a single crow, And niet even the Rutherns.”

A faint memory whisked between the cluttered halls of St. Emalyne. Her passage came to a sudden halt as she overheard talk of her dearest little boy. “Oh Markus…” she’d hum, trapped in a mind built from allusive recollections.

An exhausted Heinrik groaned as he dropped his bags at the door of the Emalyne, his attire still mired with mud after a typical Eastfleet tempest had swiveled and barreled inland right onto his weekend hunting spot. As he jiggled his keys on his castle, where previous soldiers and servants would open doors for him and service his every need, he was just a regular citizen. "If I miss anything, it's the dinners...." He grumbled, opening the door to be confronted by a wide-smiling Markus. After a quick near Cardiac Event from the double shock of a surprise Markus and the news of his engagement, he strongly embraced his son and stated with a trembled voice, "Your mother would be so elated so shall I...."
